no cash means no more Steve Walsh £250m summers, there’ll be cash for priority signings I.e. the midfield
You dont need to spend £250M. Sell Pickford and his replacement is bought with that. We could spend judiciously £80M this window and improve drastically, but it takes nous of the market. It can be done.

Genuinely believe he could follow the route of Joe Hart and lose all confidence and interest in him. Could potentially leave the club in a few years on a free and see his career fade away. That’s how concerning his form has been for two years.

Just sell before his stock lowers even more.
Just look at butland, he was overhyped as well early on and now stoke would struggle to give him away. Could do with getting as much for baby hart as possible now because there’s only one way his career is going, sadly I doubt many teams would be willing to match the wage we’ve probably put him on though

that’s what I said, if we get an offer then replace him. But we won’t be going out of our way to buy a top class GK whilst he’s picking up a wage

so we’ve gone around the houses for you to agree with me

What kind of move could you get him that he would take though dave? And how much would we get for him?

You need a DOF who knows what he's doing for that too happen.

Nope. We can do it either way. Sign his replacement and make him No2. That'd recalibrate what we have to spend on a midfielder.

You see midfield as the priority, I see the GK position as that.

...as folk know, I’ve never been a fan of Pickford. Even without the mistakes, even without the calamities, he’s just not my preferred type of goalkeeper.

Its easy to look at his performance in isolation, but a key point is how a more traditional goalkeeper who dominates his area helps the confidence of the CBs.

I'd be happy at recouping the £30M spent. When all is said and done, he's the England No1. A buyer could be found if a decision was made. Pope is being quoted at £50M.

We are not having a goalkeeper on £60k on the bench when we are already hamstrung by ludicrous wage bill.

And if you think that having all our 6 midfielders contributing 7 goals 10 assists in 38 games not being a problem, then maybe you see the game differently then the majority

Stoke wanted 30 mill last season after teams bid 25 mill. Now they are willing to accept 8 million but nobody will touch him with a barge pole.

Chances are we will end up in this position unless somehow he morphs into Neuer overnight.

Is the defence a problem because of the GK? I think a solid GK like Pope behind them, for instance, gives the back 4 a lot of confidence.
