....surely Brands can find a big, powerful goalkeeper who commands his box somewhere on the planet. It’s what all goalkeepers used to base their games on.

I’m a bit nervous of Olsen (but I’d have him over Pickford) and I think the likes of Pope is vastly overrated.

Pickford is the Chris Farley of goalkeepers. Just a master of slapstick comedy. Really wished we went after Martinez last window he was pretty affordable.

Weakest link in the team by miles. Cost us 2 points last night and will undoubtedly cost us more points in the most important part of the season i.e the final run in. This tit could cost us a place in Europe this season if he is given many more games.

Get him dropped and let Olsen finish the rest of the season. He might not be a world beater but he is reliable and solid and there is no way would he have gifted them that goal last night. Carlo's plan worked and was only fecked up by this joker.

His brain fart moments really change a good solid performance into a dire one. I'm not sure why he tried to punch the ball away rather than just grab it and hold on or even just tip it around the post!
The conceded corner he could've been helped out with the defence giving him a call to leave if he weren't sure of his positioning, as one of their players was coming in around the back.
But if we plan to move forwards and up the league in the coming seasons, he's not the man for the big occasions.

To be fair to Jordan Pickford (for the goal) the shot should have been closed down and never allowed to happen; but once it did, Pickford has to do a lot better. He may have been unsighted with the ball going through a few legs, as his enabler Carlo Ancelotti stated, but it looked like Pickford could have stuck a leg out and saved that shot with his foot.

Also, doing things like giving away the corner when the ball was going out for a goal kick, and coming for crosses that he's obviously going to struggle to connect with, are a big concern. Making two or three decent saves in a game is good, but not when it's combined with two or three avoidable mistakes. It will be interesting to see who gets to play between the stick against Newcastle United.

He has the wrong character for a top goalkeeper as well as not enough ability. We don't need a mouthy, flashy keeper. Get Olsen in for the rest of the season, and get Brands busy finding a new goalie who can make regulation saves, catch crosses and has decent distribution.

Yep, the basics like you say, catching crosses. Even up his punches are awful, he has me a bag of nerves, you can see our defenders are too

I think Pope would do well for you, but as others have said - we’d want crazy money for him.

I think he’s got three years left on his contract and I’m not saying he’s worth this - but to us he’s probably worth £50 million. Same as Palace want silly money for Zaha because of his importance to them.

From the outside looking in you have the makings of a decent defence. Digne is a good player, obviously I like Keane and Mina seems to have settled down. A right back and a solid enough keeper and you have a real platform to build from.

I don’t know what our summer budget will be but if it was 50m and we could buy Pope for 50m I would spend the lot on him personally and be comfortable that the only other signings we could make would be based off selling Pickford and some other deadwood.

Carlo has made me love a lot of our players again and really turned round my feelings about a lot of players (never thought I’d like Keane, DCL, Iwobi like I do now) and we’re just left with this one huge weak link.
