He's statistically bad and the statistics very much do account for this. I don't mean just like goals allowed or clean sheets, but dig a little and it isn't pretty.

It's a bit like when we had Tim Howard as our goalkeeper for all those years, he was a metaphor for Everton; some great games, some howlers. We're not going to get anyone better.

Tbh he was an absolutely amazing shot stopper.

But not from shots from distance and not for collecting crosses often or consistently.

We seem to get keepers who are really good at exactly one thing and nothing else lol

Amazing tonight. Not the keeper but the players in front is the problem. End of.
Since he got injured halfway through last season and worked on getting his head screwed on he’s been great. The odd bad moment like the second against Spurs but they’re few and far between nowadays.
If we had better defenders in front of him we’d be much higher up the league and he’d be getting linked with a big move this summer.

"Opta statistics lend weight to Pickford's case, too. He has played 43 times for England, kept 20 clean sheets, and made no errors leading to goals."

** Stares intently at the Everton defence **
He's never getting the equivalent of England vs Andorra while he's playing for Everton. If the problem is that he can't handle the pressure that's fine, he's still not good enough for us. It doesn't really matter what it's down to for me.

Do people think we're going to reach a point where our defense never gives up shots?

Yeah that’s what I said isn’t it ?

He has let in loads of goals this season because our defence has let so many clear goal scoring opportunities through. Look at the City game, he was outstanding and then with ten minutes to go Keane slices the ball, nobody tracks Foden and boom 1-0. Look at the very first game of the season, Keane let’s Southampton’s striker through one on one and he emphatically finished, no way any keeper was getting that.

I was massively critical of Pickford a year or so ago because he was causing problems with his positioning, shot stopping and mentality the only thing he was good at was reaction saves because of his reflexes. The last year or so he’s only been directly at fault for a tiny amount of our conceded goals, such as Spurs’ second goal.

We’ve conceded 47 premier league goals this season - go find me how many you can justifiably blame on Pickford.

He has been one of, if not the best players for over a year mate, and even you surely know that, even in your dislike of him
I know he's a poor club GK.

If that feller hadn't been playing well for England over the past few years do you think he'd still be here at Everton given his appalling performances over that period?

I posted his career stats the other day, they are utterly 'kin criminal.

We’re back to Pickford being incredible because he did well against a poor international side? Hes been a bit better for us the past year, but his record for us doesnt lie.
