Yeah that's definitely true. I think we get good money mostly. Rom, Stones, Richarlison, Gueye and Digne were all great deals for us off the top of my head.
I think when we have good players and there’s a top end market we do sell reasonably well. The problem has not only been th purchasing above market value but actually the quality of player as well….too many players have gone for peanuts below book value or they have simply ran their contract down.

I think there has to be some rules set out by any club each transfer window, JP should only be sold for a ridiculous fee (otherwise he stays out as he is worth too many points). A ridiculous offer in my opinion would start at £70m - no one would pay that so he stays. It also appears to actually be one of those times where a decent player actually wants to stay at the club. We should embrace that.

Be proper pissed if he goes for £30-40 million.

I would assume every club has a transfer plan for each window and will also have a price they would accept for every player they have. Some clubs have players that are vital to them and the club should have them on a do not sell list or have a list of potential replacements if they are forced to sell him

It won't happen but if they did, they need to be lynched.
Like Pickford myself as well as ability think he is good sort... Could have gone couple of times no doubt, and trotted out the "champions £££££ league" win things nonsense. Yet he has stayed signed a new contract. He is most likely our highest asset currently as England's number one, not deluded myself and in la la land as every player has a price and @Blue peter suggests £70 million and upwards, I would agree.

Yep as a starting price 70 plus. He is quality, loyal and the contract is a big win for Everton. He has been fundamental to our survival and has improved massively, few brain farms here and there but who doesn't.

Desperate not to be in this need to sell position but here we are, I want him to stay but finances may dictate and the issue may be that the team see not one penny of it.

Desperate times.

Saw some saying take 30 million for him, absolute joke.

I think the dilemma for Everton is that Pickford was essential to survival for the last two seasons and it would be a massive risk to lose him. But Pickford's value is only going to decrease year on year from now so from a financial perspective it would be great to be able to sell him and replace him (while making a significant profit) with a GK that would add as much value on the pitch as Pickford does. But that is not easy.
I agree with the value and our problem is, we don’t have many players that we can sell for a good amount

And not having too many players to sell for a decent amount only puts added pressure on accepting a bid for Pickford. I can't see Man Utd trying to buy him, I think they would want a younger player but it all depends on the ownership and how that works out. There is no way Glaziers will fork out a huge transfer fee for a GK unless they sell DeGea for a massive fee and even then they have Henderson, so I expect that the crap in the media about Man Utd being interested is just complete BS. I would be more concerned with Spurs coming in and trying to lowball an offer and Moshiri buckling to Levy.

You’re argument is to get rid of a player who’s quality now, in case he becomes bad in a few years time and you recommend we sign a keeper who is worse than Pickford now so that he might be as good as him in a few years time.

Why are you surprised so many disagree with this?

You sweet sweet child...

Sell Pickford to United at an inflated fee.

Sign the superstar u23 keeper they were about to bring in.

Win. everything. Repeat.

How much you think Arsenal would sell Ramsdale for :
How much you think Newcastle would sell Pope for now :

And they are both back ups to Pickford!!!
