Jordan Pickford

Not true. We've all been at games when one team is restricted to long range pot shots that the keeper should save 99.9% of the time. They all go on the stats. Stats can only tell us so much, otherwise the RS moneyball approach would've won them the league by now.

Yeah, remember that game against Wolfsburg when they had about 30 shots to our 10 and we won 4-0. All those shots were easy saves for Howard though.

Forster is made of pure concrete. He'll be the third in the Butland Pickford battle for the gloves.

When Pickford or Butland play in any games of significance such as Champions League and cup finals and face some of the world's best strikers like Forster has, AND played very well...then they'll go up in the order IMO

Aye, but if a good keeper is worth 10 points over a season, are you saying Sunderland would have been relegated by November without him?

He won them a number of points prior to his injury at the back end of December, including:

3-0 win over Hull City (H)
2-1 win over Leicester City (H)
1-0 win over Watford (H)

Once he was out injured, their league form looked like:

4-1 loss (A) - Burnley
2-2 draw (H) - Liverpool
3-1 loss (H) - Stoke
2-0 loss (A) - West Brom
0-0 draw (H) - Spurs (Spurs registered 3 shots on target) - 1 point gained with Mannone
4-0 win (A) - Palace (Palace registered 9 shots on target) - 3 points gained with Mannone, though it was less him winning the points - more Kone
4-0 loss (A) - Southampton

Pickford returns, still partially injured and gets MOTM against us in a 2-0 loss where we registered 8 shots on target and he could do little about either goal.

He has the potential to be a top keeper but like every top keeper, he still needs a good defensive unit in front of him. He hasn't got that now but is likely to have it next season - should he make the move.

Should he make the move of course Con.

Oh he was great at Celtic, don't get me wrong but those days are gone.

He's 30 next year whilst Pickford will be 24 and Butland 25.

Third in the pecking order.
