How is it a cheap shot ?

To allege I'd take issue with that. Piss poor, actually. Again;

As much as we like to cling on to small successes/PR exercises for the club, I'm of the belief that Everton need to concentrate on the football, and leave the community stuff to EITC and the clubs directors.

We're supporters of the club, so our natural instinct is to support but whatever way we spin it, Jose Baxter is taking a contract and another's place in the U23 squad. Every minute he gets, is a minute less for Tom Davies v2. It's also a very clear irrefutable statement that there's a tolerance at Everton to drug abuse.

Don't post things that imply that then ??

You literally just posted everything the club does should be in the interests of winning.

And I never alleged anything, I asked a question.

Jog on soft lad.

Appalling comment. Fancy using a dying child to attempt to make a point.

That's an idiotic preposition. £200,000 is not a significant sum to our finances plus Bradley is extremely unlikely to be a malign influence at the club. Can you make the same statement about Baxter?

The point was, everything the club should be doing is to compete.

Investing time/minutes to a charity case at the expense of another player doesn't seem productive...

As I said, every minute Baxter gets is a minute from Tom Davies v2 - he should only get that game time if he's considered potentially good enough for the first team.

Of course not, but I grew up in the place he first got arrested with two men, aged 29 and 34. It was no surprise back then even though he was only 17, and the names involved...

Through his own admission - he shouldn't live in Liverpool. Why is that?

There's no smoke without fire, and there was a lot of smoke around this lad before he even kicked a ball. Given how his career panned out...

Like he was at Oldham, couldn't thank Stubbs enough.
Like he was at Sheff United, repaid them with two failed drugs tests.

In expre

There's enough indicators for me. Top is how he continually lies, first arrest - I didn't know those two older gentlemen. failed drugs test - I was spiked. second failed drugs test months later...

Still, we'll see. Hopefully next time he moves on he has nicer things to say about "the blue sh***e" :p

I respect your opinions here, but strongly disagree.

You seem to know more about the drug offences than I do. But should being led astray by men in their 30's when you're 17 be held against you for life? As I said, nobody knows the reasons why he's took drugs subsequently, but it's not much of a crime in my eyes. Just a stupid decision for someone in his position. There might be mitigating circumstances, or mental health problems, or maybe he's just an idiot.

Best case scenario we turn a young troubled lads life around, his story serves as a good example to our academy players, and he goes on to have a decent career elsewhere.

Worst case scenario, he acts up and is swiftly booted out.

Very unsavoury

Not just me then?... Still, let's not dwell on the unsavoury, nasty antics. I'll leave the other mods to review.

Baxter - to conclude my opinion to avoid polarizing the thread.

Jobs for the boys.

Disappointing and sends out a very mixed message around tolerance.

Ultimately - he takes another lads contract/game time.

But, I trust Unsworth. I just disagree here.

I'll leave it there ;)
