Transfer Rumour Joshua Zirkzee

Wel of course he has made that a chance. If he's the only player on the pitch who'd get his head to it, he is the key ingredient that takes an aimless cross into a goalscoring opportunities, isnt he?

I haven't cherry picked any information. I've presented you the information you've requested on the parameters Ive set. I've explained to you that scoring penalties isn't the measure of a world class striker (otherwise Baines and Unsworth would be world class).

I'll repeat them for you though. As an added bonus I've also put goals per minute in.

Salah: 24 goals. 1 every 182 minutes
Kane: 26 goals 1 every 162 minutes
DCL: 24 Goals 1 every 167 Minutes
Vardy: 24 goals 1 every 188 minutes.

Thats the things with facts mate. They don't lie. You are probably right in 1 regard to say Calvert Lewin doesn't deserve to be mentioned alongside the above. In 2 of the 3 above, he's actually substantially better than them!
If he's the only player on the pitch who can get his head to it it's not aimless. Personally I think it's a fair point that he needs to add a bit more to his game to be put in the top bracket. It's not a criticism, what he does is great, but for me to a large extent if you stop crosses you stop him. I've said before, if he could add goals where he just pulls something out of the bag from seemingly innocuous positions, that's when he'll be truly top drawer. It doesn't have to screamers or anything, just goals where it isn't a case of somebody giving him the ball and him 'only' needing to finish it.

Edited because I genuinely had no idea this was the Zirkzee thread until I posted it, I hope we manage to get this done. I know very little about him but the profile seems the right one.

I'm being slightly tongue in cheek.
Oh FFS!! :o :D
The point is though, that DCL's record over the last couple of years is right up there with the best in the league. It's not unreasonable to say he provides more for the team too than the rest above (there's a debate with Kane).

Hopefully Zirkzee comes in and can be another DCL.

I think we overrate some players. Richarlinson is a bit overrated for me. Godfrey as a centre back is still raw and a bit overrated. At points last season Holgate was overrated (and probably a bit underrated as a right back). DCL I've always felt is really underrated. The stats seem to back that up.
Yeah, DCL has definitely been underated for the last couple seasons, but you know how fans are, players are either gods gift or the worse player ever to pull on the Royal Blue Jersey!! I'm just really wary off people getting too hyped about him, and then when he hits a bad patch of form or doesn't reach those expectations, then they'll turn on him and give him dogs abuse.

I mean I'm being slightly facetious by saying aimless long ball. The issue is, his jump turns things that would not be a chance for 95% of strikers into a chance for him.

He's not actually a great finisher, he's become good, but he is someone who makes it easy to make chances for himself.

It's logical to actually read and comprehend a post before replying to it. You weren't doing that, so not sure how your posts could be logical? You keep asking/arguing the same point. I/we've already stated our case, you just haven't read it properly. I'm not going to keep repeating the same thing over and over again in the vain hope you'll actually read it.

There are more levels between DCL and Haaland than there are between Kane and Ronaldo. Many. Haaland could be/is on the way to being a Ronaldo level player. DCL will be lucky to get to the overall level that Kane has been at for several years now.

You have given three players, from one league, that in your opinion are better. So in the whole entire of the world, you are saying there are only 3 more? Including Haaland and Mbappe??? I really don't know what to say about that tbh.

I responded to exact points from an exact post.

Honestly your replies are mind blowing, it's easily the strangest discussion I've had on here and I'm not sure why I've bothered lol

Getting Moise Kean vibes here though.

Wouldnt mind him signing in the summer as a 3rd striker to develop without any pressure off the bench here and there when 2 goals+ to the good & early round cup/potential european fixtures - but for me if you sign someone in January they have to be someone who can make an impact on games and I dont think many 18/19 year olds do that from overseas - look at Kean and the lad from Wolves playing up top for them at present.
Yes true. Problem is either way its a gamble we have gone with older and supposedly more tested like Kone, Valencia, Niasse, Tosun in the past then been lumbered with big wages when they haven't performed. At least with a young player you can develop them and potentially make profit as well that was kind of Brands's role.

He wasn’t underrated. He was awful. He has found some form this season and certainly looked excellent in the first 3 months of the season. Things have now gone off the boil a bit.

Is he the top quality addition we need to push us on this season ? Not sure, feels like a summer development player.

We are aiming low bar here
It's a relatively low-risk signing if we make it. Won't command big wages like Tosun, and we wouldn't be throwing 30m at Bayern for him. Tosun and Kean gone for 40m total in the summer, get this lad and one more in for less than that.

If he's able to develop to DCL's current level he'll be an amazing signing for the future. We still need another striking option, however.

I'd like to see this guy (if he's any good - no idea), DCL, Richarlison and somebody in the mould of Llorente from when Spurs signed him. He was superb for them.
