I suppose the problem of filling the hotel would be the owners when all's said and done. A hotel chain would pay the club for being on top of their facility. If Copthorne Hotels were happy sticking a 168 bedroom hotel on the end of Bramall Lane then the reasoning must be that a venture like a football quarter would pull in an enabler to at least get the ball rolling on redeveloping the ground.

Didnt we give up on out sourcing as a policy as we discovered we could earn more by doing ourselves.

Anyway brainstorming is no harm mate! I just think a hotel isnt viable, the biggest example i can think of is Chelsea and i beleive it was Ken Bates brain child. They were looseing money hand over fist before Red Rom took over (not that their not now). It would be intresting to see do their hotel and lesuire facility element actually turn a profit. If they cant turn a decent profit in London and of the Kings Road i think we're fairly knackered!

Ive already said why i dont think it would be a runner, as your basic market is young men - middle age men (no offence ladies) not really the ideal market for looking for hotel occupancey especially outside the city centre and probably at a premium.

We cant afford to build a stadium by itself and i dont think a project which requires extra capital to build and run and as subjective as a hotel is viable, considering the vast majority of stadium options arent. I also dont beleive the revenue generated assuming their was full occupancey would be that great to make a signifcant difference to us. If it was so profitable every other Prem League team would have done it long before us. Im guessing KEIOC have done capital and cost projections etc.

Lastly the backside has fallen out of the tourism industry all over the world building a hotel would just be shear lunacey. I may be by myself here but I dont think we should use Sheff Utd as an example of the way forward.

P.S. looks terrible!

Another good point that.

There is no way that the stadium would be subsidising the cost of the hotel either so it must be doing the business.

Yeah would be intresting to see how the Reebok and Stamford Bridge hotel works and do they turn a profit that would make a difference to us.

Personally i dont think staying in Goodison is an option thats best for us - but am open to anything at this stage.

there are a few big places around there i suppose that would fill it with business people, and mormons visiting the cathedral. apart from that i cant see asda and the likes providing them with much custom.

I really can't see it but there must be a model in place to sustain the hotels at Brammall Lane and the Reebok so who knows.

I certainly wouldn't label it either an Everton or Liverpool hotel so that both could book.

The hotel bar could be get rowdy like.

Bramall lane is only a 10 minute walk from Sheffield city centre so the hotel is not dependent on matchday business and Boltons stadium is right on the M61 so would have the same clientele as travelodges, premier inns etc... A hotel in L4 would have neither of those advantages for the non-football fan.

Yeah, that's a good point mate.

puts electronic battle suit back on*

You're so enlightened mate, they'll never brainwash you, NEVER.

Keep on sleeping with tin foil wrapped around your head so KenWRONG can't tap into your thoughts in the night.

This is akin to Jordan getting married and desperately trying to rebrand/reinvent herself to stay within media focus. Bottom line, they got their wish so they should just drop it. Hooked on the media attention somewhat.

And Jordan has beer taegs.

Your a Joke you, your the biggest Billy Bull lover on any Blues forum, i just laugh at your pro-kenwright sentiments.

Your not even taken in by his pathetic soundbites are you??

Anyone who comes out with stuff like 'viva Bill' towards a man who is slowly suffocating our club is clearly not a full ticket.

Love for a football club DOESN'T acquire you the players Moyesy wants to buy does it??

He's skint yet won't let go of our club.

So is he thinking of EFC, or Bill Kenwrights own kudos??
