Kevin Thelwell - New Director of Football

Not having those comments from Brands.

He's in face saving mode - he's as responsible as any, if not worse.

He was happy to take Moshiri's money and he renewed his deal knowing the gig.
Of course he’s culpable; he should have walked away if he wasn’t able to do his job. That’s my gripe with him.

But let’s be honest, it’s not just Brands who has leaked stuff. We all know Moshiri wanted Zaha, then Iwobi rocked up out of nowhere. The El Gahzi deal, the Godfrey deal.

In all honesty, Brands doesn’t need to save face. He has a job, his reputation wasn’t really tarnished because like most jobs, the inner workings and troubles will be known throughout the footballing world

Would have thought they would have made Brainds sign a confidentiality agreement, or they did, and it has expired.

This chap talks utter wham.

He was also a club director, giving him a responsibility for oversight, which he clearly did not discharge and just took $$$$.

Do something about the problems, don't take $$$$ and make excuses after you've gone.

Verdict: MASSIVE FAIL.

Brands was off the charts terrible.

Him and Koeman are the two I give primacy for the mess we're in, closely followed by the carpetbagger.

Nah, sorry. He's been badly tarnished. He's a man who knew how bad things were and signed on for more. The football world will know that too.

He’s just walked back into a job. Someone whose career is tarnished doesn’t get that high profile job
He walked back into his old job in the relative backwater that is the Eredivisie.

When this man started at Everton, there were rumours that Manchester United were impressed. His trajectory was upwards. At best, his career has stalled. He went to the big league and bombed.

Doesn’t make any difference though, that was his initial plan.

What’s more worrying is the owner just buying him when Brands was unsure if he’s ready or if he fits in the wage structure

No Chris. We tried to sign Tomori on loan.

Why would Norwich loan our their first choice centre half? It's a nonsense.

He also wanted Max Aarons after he realised his golden boy Kenny was crap. Was he also going to try and loan him too?

Oh he most certainly does.

Wasn't that long ago he was linked with Man Utd.

He's very much attributed to the "EVERTON HAVE SPENT HALF A BILLION AND LOOK AT THE STATE OF THEM" and rightly so.

If he's linked to any club now, the first thing fans will see is Mina, Gomes, Delph, Gbamin, Moise Kean, Iwobi, Allan, Doucoure etc.

Just as well for Marco Silva with Richarlison, really.

Fella looked the part and good in a suit though didn't he?...

He didn’t, he got a better job.

His confidentiality agreement must have ran out on the 30th of July.

Happy for him to spout now, doing more damage to himself then us, in his line of work you dont bite the hand that feeds you, other owners will look at those comments and his record here and say hes not for us. His legacy of costs and bumper contracts heaped onto the club and unmovable players will take us a couple of years to shift. He could never sell a player. Facts speak for themselves he left us an annual bill of £260 mill in wages and ammortisation every year and a team that finished a couple of points above the relegation zone. No redeeming attribute.

Was a disaster.

I agree that Brands was massively hamstrung by Moshiri and the Club. I also agree that despite this he still picked up a wage, accepted the job on the board and was never going to resign over not being allowed to do his job.

End of the day as @nsno-chris said Brands’ reputation will be intact and his bank balance is looking fantastic whilst it’s another knock to Everton’s reputation. There’s only one winner here
