Correct me just in case I have it wrong if you would @Eggs, but didn't the latest injury to DCL occur before Simms was loaned out?

If that is the case, not only was Richy sold, as was intimated for the whole of last season, already knowing we needed a replacement, but we shoot ourselves in the foot by further depleting our very limited options up front.
The extent of the injury being known, yet still ship out the only understandable option, to me is nothing short of negligence.

Surely the loaning out of Simms should have been delayed until recruitments had been made. Plenty of time to do that, and also get first hand viewing of the potential of the Lad in first team action.

Why ? Simms is miles off Premier league level.
