That’s really how you feel about Tarkowski so far? I’ve been mostly impressed so far. Didn’t have his best game against forest but felt he still played well enough.

Is he another one of those? It’s like the club has been infiltrated with them akin to a good communist tactic like Vladimir Lenin. The best way to guarantee success and victory is to play both sides then you never lose. One city two clubs. One is thriving while the other wilts away. It’s like everton is being destroyed on purpose.

Yes because I don't think Keane is that bad either. Keane had a couple of seasons with us where he was fine and got into the England team. We then played a style where Keane had to play in a higher line and got exposed. This is exactly what will happen to tarkowski.

Some defenders look good when they can defend deep and play it simple. Keane and tarkowski are two of those types. As you saw against forest we had the emphasis to push on and tarkowski struggled just like Keane does. They prefer playing In a deep back line.

For that reason I don't see him as an upgrade on Keane but a like for like

Nice post. I guess I automatically assumed you felt very negative about Keane like most on this board. I feel he gets more hate than is actually deserved.

People talk about loaning Coady so we have to go with a 3 man backline; but we bought Tarkowski and he's only know a four at the back system. That's HIS strength.

Why are we allowing the tail to wag the dog here?

….I imagine they want to play 3 CBs as a preferred formation. i don’t think they are playing this way because they purchased Coady.

I’d always go with a back 4 but this is not the way Lampard wants to set up. I accept that.

I’d prefer to look at other area that could improve us & feel we’d currently be better with 3 in central midfield & WBs who are more adventurous.
