Alright Kev? League is starting in five weeks and we've got a squad that wouldn't look out of place in League Two.

Any work would be appreciated, unless you actually left your role last summer and it just hasn't been announced?

We wouldn't know the difference as, on the face of it, it doesn't appear that you've done anything at all in over 12 months.
Calm down! He's been on the phone to Wolves for weeks trying to get hold of Willy Boly........

By value, I mean investing, I’m fairly confident that McNeill, Onana and Garner have appreciated. Essentially buying a player is an investment and you look for that to appreciate. If you compare that to day previous investments like Mina, Gomes or Gbamin, the value is obvious. So both on the pitch the value is appreciating while of 5he pitch the costs comparatively are lower Comparatively. I mean trading let’s say Garner for Delph or Onana for Allan, is better value illustratively overall.

Not sure I’m being optimistic, not a huge believer in the DOF at all and I certainly questioned the Brands cult on here - that was just wired people backing him, while he toropeded the club - even today people back him. Which makes the the melo drama over Thelwell, just weird or maybe an extension of that entrenched position. Or getting criticism in early after being burnt on their opinions on Brands.

Jury is out for sure on Thelwell, I’m not saying otherwise, I just see some of the stuff posted as lacking much insight and a bit melodramatic and I’m not sure it’s wholly fair or objective - don’t mean you personally like mate! ;)

I sort of backed Brands, but mainly because I dont think any of our DOFs get to do their job.

Honestly, a functioning football club would sack anyone in his position for that January window alone. He is way out of his depth.
Absolutely spot on! Of course, I doubt any well-run, well-fuctioning football club would give the DOF job to some bloke whose CV basically consists of making the tea for Mendes at Wolves and six months at New York Red Bull Wander Rovers Athletic United, but that's another conversation.

I’d love to know what he actually does on a day to day basis. Once again we’re well into a transfer window and Everton’s transfer policy is yet to show any signs of activity.
Maybe he’s writing a new 120 point plan? I could help him start it off…
1. Sell our best 17 year olds
2. Sell our best 18 year olds
3. Sell any other youth player someone will give us money for.
4. Keep hold of overpaid squad players who contribute nothing.
5. But a non-goal scoring striker.
6. Remind everyone about this 120 point plan- but make absolutely sure not to tell anyone what the plan is.
7. Downgrade from Mcvities chocolate digestives to Aldi’s own brand.
8. Remind everyone what a good job Bill and Denise are doing.
9. Remind everyone how hard transfer windows are.
10. Only buy players from recently relegated clubs,
11. Or players who play/ have played for wolves.

I have him a couple of years, just as I will Thelwell, Brands was very damaging to my mind, the effects still being felt today.

He was part of the board, that everyone has spent the last few months protesting for the mess we’re in. If we argue interference, then the same defence applies to Denise, Bill and Sharpey to my mind mate.

I don’t think we will hear from him he’s going the same way as brands, no control of anything

I’m sure there was some strong rumours last Christmas that he was very close to walking away.

I don't buy that for a second. This nomark was brought back to a top job in the top league in the world from some gimmick team in New York that I doubt even most New Yorkers would know the name of. Talk about landing on your feet and golden opportunites.

If there is anyone out there who honestly believes employees at the top end and top level of the professional football world who are on 6-7 figure annual contracts would voluntarily "walk away" from their wage or multi-million compensation package, they are living in cuckooland.

….in my view, it’s no coincidence the club has fallen apart since Brands left. It was always a madhouse but one he diplomatically kept together until Benitez forced him out.

Be absolutely on the other end of the spectrum mate. Very poor. His legacy still impacting the club.

Benitez ripped apart the structure he had in place and loads of people left as they didn't want to work under him.

At least it looks like a structure like Brands has been put back in place with a few well respected additions on board.

He is in a hard situation at the moment as its quite clear we don't have the money of previous summer windows due to FFP and whatever money the club has brought in is getting diverted to the stadium build.

…I can never forgive Thelwell for leaving us a striker light. Never, regardless of whatever he does. Gross negligence and absolutely no excuse whatsoever.

I have real doubts that he’s a genuine ‘football man’. The DoF needs to be a football man, not a ‘Line Manager’ (as he describes himself).
