Some merit to this given he is not on the board like his predecessor (Brands) and now with amount of accountants on current Everton board...I do have some sympathy for him, he’s clearly hamstrung with our finances. He’s probably getting laughed out of clubs for some of the proposals he’s being forced to put together.
Don’t know how anyone genuinely thinks he’s just deliberately choosing to not sign a striker.
I would agree, but at one point Kev decided to utter those fateful words 'we'll give you £15m for Neal Maupay'.I do have some sympathy for him, he’s clearly hamstrung with our finances. He’s probably getting laughed out of clubs for some of the proposals he’s being forced to put together.

…I can never forgive Thelwell for leaving us a striker light. Never, regardless of whatever he does. Gross negligence and absolutely no excuse whatsoever.
I have real doubts that he’s a genuine ‘football man’. The DoF needs to be a football man, not a ‘Line Manager’ (as he describes himself).
Not a good luck selling your promising youngsters while being absolutely caked in deadwood Kev you complete Merkin.
Massive cop out this. Who’s he line managing, and why? What are his roles and responsibilities as a line manager? We need to know what he actually does if he’s not doing what a DOF is supposed to do.
What is a DOF supposed to do??
I bet everyone has a different answer to that.
I agree. There is a theory of Brands and indeed, Thelwell as being innocent bystanders when they are/were on handsome salaries and have the equivalent of a senior management role in a business.I have him a couple of years, just as I will Thelwell, Brands was very damaging to my mind, the effects still being felt today.
He was part of the board, that everyone has spent the last few months protesting for the mess we’re in. If we argue interference, then the same defence applies to Denise, Bill and Sharpey to my mind mate.
What’s a line manager supposed to do?
Someone who oversees the performance of people he employs and reports back to someone in a senior role
Who are the people he employs?
