All he's seen is a chairman and board that couldn't give a monkeys what the fans thinkOh and,
great interview Kev. Really informative
The main issue I have so far with his time is that when he came we were short of strikers - everyone knew this.
In his first window we sold Richarlison, brazils starting number 9 in the World Cup, and only brought in Maupay and then in his second window everyone said we’d buy a striker and we didn’t.
We’re a couple of weeks into the new window and appear to have sold one of our three strikers that played last season, not Maupay who is abysmal, not dcl who is always injured, but Simms who could develop into a better striker as he’s still learning the game AND we have still brought nobody in!
We’ve gone from dcl, Richarlison, Simms, Cannon (short of strikers!) to DCL, Maupay and Cannon (who’s been on loan so has no premier league experience) - how can anyone in his position think this is ok!?
Last season wasn’t ok and it meant we stayed up in the final 30 minutes of the season, but this needs fixing asap.
….pretty much agree with that but selling Simms won’t weaken us.
Maybe not.
But we could be starting the season with technically no strikers after he's gone.
If you remove Dom (we shouldn't rely on him), Maupay (should look to offload), and Canon (who should be sent on loan).
….if we don’t bring in an effective striker then its a repeat of last season.
I definitely wouldn’t send Cannon on another loan until Dyche has been able to assess him pre-season. Whilst we know Simms isn’t good enough, Cannon is an unknown quantity.
It shouldn’t weaken us but when Calvert-Lewin is injured and Gray is likely sold too (rubbish up front anyway but not his fault he’s no striker) it leaves Maupay or Cannon.….pretty much agree with that but selling Simms won’t weaken us.

I think Cannon looks better than Simms but he’s never played in the premier league. What if he gets an injury or hits some poor form like kids will we’re literally left with Maupay.
I think I’m just angry as I didn’t get much sleep last night because I know the season doesn’t start tomorrow and there’s plenty of time but we’ve said that before…
Yeah exactly. I’ve actually been impressed with most of what Thelwell has done so far but the striker situation has been shockingly managed.….there’s a bottom line here that hasn’t changed for TWO windows;
we need an effective striker brought into the club. Indeed, I’d say if we bring in an effective striker and a potent wide player, we’ll be fine.
Some decent finishes from Cannon

I've been extremely unimpressed that they have prioritised far less important positions than forwards and goalscorers.Yeah exactly. I’ve actually been impressed with most of what Thelwell has done so far but the striker situation has been shockingly managed.
