It's his job to manage these and to make sure the right team is in place to do the work.

What timescale does he have? What are his KPI's to measure his success?

Personally I have no idea, but a lot of people will want him sacked just for the Maupay signing alone. Then again he could be making massive improvements with regards to the academy and sports science but as fans we have no way of measuring that.

He will do what the board allow him to do and with 3 accountants now on that board in reality there won't be many different answers.

There has been no clear clarity On who does what since Walsh was here. A lot of the transfers have been manager picked and some DOF picked, and plenty of in between.

I agree. There is a theory of Brands and indeed, Thelwell as being innocent bystanders when they are/were on handsome salaries and have the equivalent of a senior management role in a business.

Not does it mean I don't see that there were/are obstacles put in their way but professionals in a senior role should be able to make an assessment in short order as to whether they have the freedom and resources to work, or not.

They are not individuals for whom leaving the role would mean being unable to pay their gas bill.
