2024/25 Kevin Thelwell

Well, he’s done with nothing.
*fixed* that for you.

PSR Tim was a sweetener for Onana from Villa & United were tight arsed over Branthwaite.

Left us with no future RB, poor cover at LB
and loan signings that are a round hole for a managers square block and a forward injured for his first 3 months,
and no GNONTO !

Loved you Kev 😁 💙 but time to trot on !

Im guessing he had something to do with putting Doucoure on what looks like CL level money for some players.
That alone i'd probably be saying bye bye. Decisions like that scare me. Up there when koeman paid £25m for bolasie. You start to wonder if they're fit for purpose.

What did he spend on Beto, Chermiti and O’Brien? £50 million? Have barely kicked a ball between them. Dress it up how you like, but that is poor recruitment.
His loans have largely flopped too.

We have a crap squad that is going to be terrifyingly thin by the summer.

Have seen or heard absolutely nothing from Thelwell to suggest he should be kept on. The guy is out of his depth.

Beto and Chermo don't fit how Dyche wants to play and don't play and won't consistently under him, and O'Brien doesn't have experience to play, unlike Mick Keggers.

Is he doing a fantastic job? Definitely could be better, but he also has a double crap job as he had to buy for Dyche (who allegedly was shutting down some of the suggestions and all that, I dunno, hard to know for sure but I could see this happening).

Relatively low sum, higher potential players is gonna be the way to go for the foreseeable - Chermiti, NDiaye, Patterson fit that bill, even Mykolenko to an extent - sub-20m players that have potential to either be sold for more than they were acquired for or be a mainstay in a somewhat successful team.

That said, I suspect TFG will probably put their own person there, unless he somehow impresses them with... something? Doesn't his contract end at the end of the season too anyway?

Always strikes me him and dyche dont see eye to eye on things like that. Hardly ideal, dof and manager pulling in different directions.
Complete guess mind.

Agree on the Doucoure wages. What would have been the alternative with no money for a replacement and the manager getting critical goals out of him?

Beto with no money down when a lot of us assumed DCL was finished (pretty much is). Dyche seems to hate him despite him having a decent record with balls played ahead of him.

Chermiti signed as a promising player but has been injured since preseason.

O'Brien is a total mystery and could look at that as a Textor deal somehow. Payments probably backended.

Would he have signed O'Brien or Beto with cash to spend?

60m spent on Strikers and we still have Dom leading our line.

Seems a nice fella, but has no clue how to pick football players.

Did well bringing in Ndiaye last summer and those hes been linked with e.g Kudus, Diaz, Gakpo etc would have been game changers for us.

Almost the entire forum are tired with Dyche now and frustrated with some / many transfer decisions.

It would be a very interesting fly on the wall 'documentary' though to see Thelwell building a new squad for Sean Dyche.

You'd have to detach yourself from being an Evertonian to fully enjoy it im sure.
