Didn't even play that well, this preason. His goal against that Kenyan side should have been saved, and his goal against Twente was good but against dire opposition. In short he has flattered to deceive and a loan is what he needs. @davek is making the championship sound like rugby but it isn't that bad tbh.

Disclaimer that I do think he has talent.

I can understand the caution regarding the purchase of Martina potentially blocking a far superior footballer who just needs games to bed in. Hopefully we are involved in lots of matches this season as Kenny needs games to force the managers hand as Coleman did with Moyes many years ago.

We have done some really smart business in the last 12 months but I am still weary of the fact we tried to buy Witsel and the even bigger tit Sissoko.

I had hoped the days of bang average players blocking young talent were behind us. Hopefully we will get the balance right as it would be a travesty to see so much potential talent not make it.

I'll tell you one thing for nothing: these decisions to sell the likes of Deulofeu, his stance on Barkley and now loaning out a lad like Dowell (who almost certainly will be gutted and is very unlucky to be loaned out whilst utter tripe like DCL remain and are played): if the results dont go as planned this season they will haunt this manager.

If koeman thinks he's good enough he'll play him. He did that last year with other players too remember?

People are really overreacting here. I only saw him play at England u20 and he certainly didn't stand out for me. Every time he got subbed. And from what i've read from other people who saw him play at the u23 last year he was verry inconsistent.

I cannot name any player from the top 6 who's under 20 but here some people think we're gonna join the top6 with players like Kenny,Davies and Dowell. Dream on.
And if they're not in the first eleven then Koeman has to walk. lol

No it's Unsworth's job to get him ready for the first team, he did that. Unless you're saying you can reach your full potential playing at U23 level.
