Why not? Everton has to pay for a lot of things.
And a big chunk on a landfill clean up? Tesco's are paying the majority of the stadium, why would we just pay a chunck to clean the land?
So the price has increased 250%? What an inflation!
Just saying what I read. The rebuild plans were about 8 years ago I think.
But obviously Kirkby doesn't need foundations?
True but we aint paying for the whole of it.
It has been proved time and again that
a. Doing it in the right order would mean that only the first phase would see attendances lower than 40,000 and
b. Just like other clubs, the matches can be arranged so that the team starts with a bunch of away matches (other clubs have had this arrangement, so why not Everton?).
So why arent other clubs rebuilding their stadiums instead of paying 200-300million for new ones? When was the last stadium rebuilt? Old Trafford because it was built to be added onto, ours aint.
LCC has already said that the school will close and I would imagine they would be willing to sell at cut price if Everton decided to stay at GP.
Oh yeah, the education authority would wanna sell at a cut price cos they're made of money. And just one school for a ground expansion? dont buy it.
These are not needed in Kirkby?
Never said they werent, but who's paying to have em knocked down for Goodison? Us. More costs.
LCC has already given signals that the closed train station could be re-opened. Plus Liverpool has to put money into improved infrastructure in the area themselves. This would benefit EFC as well.
That's nice. They could've found us somewhere to move to aswell or given us Stanley Park.
They won't. When's the last time both clubs played in the same day? The police won't even allow that.
Fair do's.
Some facts about DK:
a. Transport infrastructure is completely inadequate. Kirkby has a population of 40,000 and an infrastructure to match. It is completely inadequate in a situation where 50,000 people all rush into town within a few hours. There will be no improvements to this.
How cant it be improved? Nothing is/was set in stone.
b. Parking is extremely limited. All the spaces near the stadium are for corporate customers, players, officials and such. The closest parking areas for supporters will be miles away. The train station in Kirkby only has one line and it's capacity is completely inadequate. How will it make a stadium attractive to new supporters if it takes two hours to get there and another two hours to get out of there?
So the car parking at Goodison is amazing? Dont people park away from the stadium and walk anyway?
c. The stadium would have had LESS corporate boxes than Southampton's St Mary's. And much, much less than our rivals. Spurs have, I think about three times more.
But would be sold for more than we have now.
d. Where will the new supporters come from? Wyness' laughable suggestion (Liverpool - Manchester corridor) is best forgotten. It's not like they don't have options, is it?
They'll get there either way.
f. How would a stadium in a small town be attractive to corporate sponsors and clients?
Like any stadium for a premier league club.
g. There will be NO concerts or similar in the stadium, KMBC has already demanded on this. Just as well, who would want to stage a concert there instead of venues in Liverpool or Manchester?
Dont disagree. But they could if they wanted too. Doncaster Rovers Keepmote stadium had Ronan Keating, Bryan Adams, Elton John etc. Small stadium of 10,000 people.
h. The club would be obliged to offer KMBC free use of the stadium facilities 100 times per year. If the club can't offer this (like on a match day), the club has to pay for the facilities KMBC uses instead.
Like the council will just bully in on Match day?
How would the stadium generate more money?
An investor or buyer not willing to buy the club now?
