Kit for 24/25

Strongly disagree.

If it was something modern and attracted the interests of the modern youth fair enough. Dare you to go into the other side of the cities store and it’s literally a haven of their branding.

What do we get?

£100 for a pair of joggers which they sell for a third of the price on their website with Everton stuck on in smaller letters beneath it.

I remember seeing the players travelling to Ireland and thinking “they’re just wearing Castore tracksuits”.

Yes the club could be more commercially minded, but literally what Castore has produced? The kits will always sell but I highly doubt the other stuffs demand will meet the supply. If it does they’ll just get their cheap stuff and print Everton in small letters under it (it won’t).

If I went to another country and thought I’d get another teams merchandise, that stuff for that price would get laughed at. Nothing to compliment the club or show you’ve been to the local area of them.

Castore can get stuffed.

More of an argument of quality justifying the price rather than the price itself.

Prices are the market rate for a football club. Quality across all clubs and brands is poor as it's fast sport fashion (the neighbours complaining about the kids kits peeling already). Made cheap, sold high.

Maybe an old man saying this...but none of the new gear across the football spectrum will last longer than a couple years. Yet most "retro" stuff is 20+ years old and still in good nick.

That’s not the argument my friend but I do agree with you. All the old kids and training gear is passed about on eBay for good money and there’s a reason why. Style and quality.

Newcastle have hit the jackpot with Adidas being able to replicate their retro stuff as did Arsenal a few years ago.

We’re in no position to charge those prices, it’s absolutely crazy to think parents should pay £180 for a cotton tracksuit which has a tiny representation of the club they’re buying it for.

Castore are entering the market as premium gear, “we’ve sourced the best we could find”, it’s made in china and just because they charge the money they do makes them think they’ll get the marketing they want.

One of the reasons I hate Andy Murray, he’s essentially been a venture capitalist for those two fake athletes from the Wirral.

Hope the 3rd kit mirrors this from the 1950's.

Championship clubs are charging £60 for baby replica kits. £45-50 kids. £50-80 for adults. Most prem clubs are £70-80 a shirt.

Training gear is around the same. And they all drop by 90% in price by the end of the season.

The retro replicas are cheaply made too as the material is candy floss thing compared to how they were. Only reason why Adidas etc decided to do it was because someone else was and making money.

And Castore like to position themselves as premium but we all know they're not. It's like someone said on here, they're investing high with the hope so sell off to a bigger brand.

My point was regarding the “travel gear”, which Newcastle/adidas don’t even sell.

They just sell training gear.

This is the only thing I could find.

Now compare that to this:

When you can just get this:

Which they even offer an additional 15% off when you click on it.

They’re getting rid of their clearance stuff by typing Everton on it and doubling the price pretty much.

They need legged like Villa, Newcastle and leverkusen have done.

I understand business is about being opportunist but there’s a certain lever of CSR you can do, and they’re well over line.

Commerce for you. Adidas and all the other manufacturers do the same thing and slap a badge on templates they have in their range. Their margins are lower as they're bigger brands as well as overall quality. And that trackie being £90 from the off is scandalous in itself.

I'm not batting for Castore (should've stuck with Hummel) but they're paying us ridiculous money. If I recall, Newcastle and Villa binned them off because they got better offers regardless of complaints.

But price ranges...it's the same everywhere.

There’s no “commerce” to it at all. Yes, prices do range, of course they do, but what I’ve just provided as pictorial evidence is scandalous.

Adidas and Nike use innovative designs and equipment for their stuff every year, we’re getting barrel scraping stuff from.

it seems you’re justifying their business approach which I can’t agree with I’m afraid.

That Adidas Newcastle one is a template of their Trio 23 line and what most other Adidas kit clubs have.

Nike etc are market leaders so of course their stuff is better.

Castore is a bunch of 30 year olds from the Wirral that now have a £1bill valued sports company. Don't rate them...but from a business POV they're doing okay in that market which is ruthless

This for me is another example of our fans again wanting to be this enormous club, but not really wanting to bear any of the disadvantages that comes with such a thing. If we want to pay 25 quid for our home kit, and 2 pound a pint, let Moshiri realise his vision and let’s take the team into league 2. The premier league is an expensive place. If we don’t want that, let’s not be in the premier league. Also, if you feel the kit is too expensive, don’t buy one. The kit is pretty much on par with other clubs in the league price wise. If we want to be in the same division we have to keep up.

Completely take issue with that.

First of all we shouldn't be being rinsed. No matter what reason.

Secondly, I would argue with ticket prices too, halve the price, you'll get twice the sales.

Particularly though with stuff like kits, gear, and food & beverages inside the ground. I don't know the current prices but who would pay £5 for a pie when you can get similar outside the ground for less? Probably £2 for a chocolate bar. Just make them cheaper and people will spend more.

If Everton are getting a large chunk of these prices, then that will come under the increased revenues they need for PSR, etc.

If it just goes to Kitbag and Castore, then it ain't on.

I ordered the new away kit for my boy on Tuesday and it is still saying it hasn’t even been shipped! Has anyone received theirs yet?
