Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

Literally all my mates are spurs fans and not one single one rates or rated him. No garauntee of him being a success imo.

I know plenty of Spurs fans too, and they did rate him. Wrong place, wrong time, they often acknowledge. Poch wanted to keep him but the deal had already been agreed.

Anyway, it was three years ago. In those three years he's consistently performed to a very high level in a struggling side.

This is what confuses me. Where exactly does he think he's going on to bigger and better things? Or is it something else that's motivating this? I couldn't see him leaving England and he doesn't get into the first eleven of any of the sides above us.

There's probably been a bit of a breakdown in the relationship between him and Koeman as well. The lad hasn't had it easy with us though. There were plenty of times last season where he was set up to fail given the players he had around him. I'd like to see Delle Alli play the way he does with Lewin and Valencia on the wings.

I dont need to be in on a private conversation because this manager told everyone in a news conference that Barkley had been told to sign or leave.

It's on record...unlike the facts and figures of Barkley's contract negotiations.

Way to twist it to suit your agenda.

Right because generally that happens if a player doesn't sign a contract well they leave. Especially a player coming into his last year. As in why don;'t you want a contract and if not well is it you want to leave etc.....

He didn't tell him to leave in the way you put it. Ridiculous assumption.

Dunno, if the Spurs interest is true I can understand him being tickled about, but no way he'll be a regular starter.

It was a no win situation Dave, if he'd have continued to dodge the weekly questions about Ross's future, he would have got panned even more by you for not saying a damn thing when speculation was growing rapidly.

You don't know what has been said between Koeman and Ross Barkley in private conversations. Please stop acting like you're some pinnacle of knowledge on all things Everton.

State your opinion by all means, but do not claim to know facts when you don't.
No one knows the facts, but Sheedy gone Ross on his way out - it's looks like a manager who has a record of this doing this
Our team has been ripped apart by our two best players going - RK has to plug the gaps with better signings time will tell
In RKs defence the board should have sorted RB contract out last season!
No one player is bigger than the club , but as a local lad I wish him the best and will he return one day like Rooney?

He was badgered to sign and wouldn't. So he was sold.

BTW a manager who walked out in his final season's contract at S'ton is standing in the centre of a glass house when handing out ultimatums to players who do the same.

Again with the bs and assumptions. Lukaku had stated many times he was considering leaving for his career as did his agent. Generally when players pipe up about things like that clubs offer them bigger contract to entice him to stay. He said no the club said ok.

Were you got badgered is beyond me.

He was sold because he wanted out. He felt we were too small for him. He had always said when he left Chelsea that he could make it at a big club like that and at the time mourinho was wrong. When he signed for utd he called them the biggest and greatest club.

You clearly live in your own realm of fantasy.

Hopefully he wont return. As him leaving by running his contract down when we are on the up is very different to Rooney leaving for a huge fee when we were down and out, broke and an embarrassment.

No mate, I wanted a smart club strategy that involved making Barkley an offer at the beginning of the time Koeman arrived and tie him up with us, then if the manager wanted to exercise his options we wouldn't be now being mugged off by Spurs and taking £25M for a £40M-50M rated player.

Then why wasn't it done after your hero was chased off? Or before Ross went on England duty last summer? Or the summer before that when he still had time on his hands?

Seems like a strange move from Barkley's POV - unless he knows there is concrete interest from elsewhere.

I personally don't think he has the mentality to be a truly top player.

Sheedy left because he was offered a job in the Middle East you clown, not because of any disagreements.

The thing is Zat, what have those 'stars' done for us??

Two successive 11th placed finishes, two semi-final defeats and seventh place?

If they want out, which they all have done, then fine. They've literally brought us no success, so I don't really care.

Spot on.

@Zatara Lukaku I can see why. Not the other 3. A defender cannot defend. A winger who is bought back by his former club just to make profit after a year and a midfielder with all the tools but not the football brain, who thinks he is better than he actually is.

If you have stars like Lukaku, Stones, Deulofeu and Barkley, then you add 'supporting cast members' like Pickford, Gana, Schneiderlin, Coleman, Keane around them they will play better.

We failed as we had the stars but no supporting cast. Now we have the supporting cast and no stars.
