True. But very confident we will get both of those in.

Bare in mind, we weren't too far off until the final few weeks last year, when Lukaku pretty much gave up and Ross lost his form.

We've got a more balanced and better squad now imo, but as you say we need those final two payers of real quality in those positions, plus some more cover in defence.

I think he has being doing what you said in the last sentence quite regularly.
Maybe that's why he got smacked and threatened and that could be the reason he's off

Spurs haven't got a pot to urinate in as regards transfers this season , so I'd be totally against selling Barkley Cheaply

John Collins on the phone actually talking us (Koeman) up and saying Barkley lacked the determination/didn't have the awareness that Rooney had at that age - or words to that effect.
There was also a lot of talk about us not wanting him, even though we've offered him a big contract. Also talk of a falling out, which is maybe more likely. Collins said that he thinks RK has had a look at Ross and reckons that maybe he isn't going to get any better.

Very disappointing this one, but I watched the interview with RK yesterday and he said he'd known for a while and seemed a bit exasperated about it all.

Yeah, I have a problem with giving Spurs anything on the cheap. Levy is a bit of a cretin.
maybe a spell in the U23s in world cup year?
Will be interested in what Ross says when this one is finally over.

Must be so tempting to let him do this unless somebody comes up with what we want for him.

That said, 25m with a year of his contract left seems about right to me. I appreciate that is 20+ less than we are paying for Gylfi, but rather have a player who isn't so precious.

With Dowell stepping up as well, I think we will soon have forgotten Ross (could have been a good one) Barkley.
 

He's a talented young lad earning shed-loads of cash - he obviously likes da ladies and revels in the social scene that goes hand-in-hand with being a top PL player. That said, Liverpool can very easily become a glass bubble for someone like Ross. The social scene/clubs/bars/restaurants are condensed into a relatively small area and most people would recognises him on a night out. He has obviously been dabbling where he shouldn't have been dabbling and ended up getting sparked by an angry mobster smurf.

A move to London would give him the space and freedom to live his life the way he wants to. It's a no-brainer for him. I'm sad to see him leave but I can understand why he might want to leave.

Despite our new found wealth and better squad. I don't think,we can afford to let him for. We are and hopefully will be in four competitions, well into 2018. Surely we can get , some use out of him, if the right bids don't come in?

Think Koeman has handled this situation the right way. Told Ross sign or move on. He didn't sign and has been given no love and rightfully so.

Ross needs someone to feed his ego not someone who calls him on his faults and tries to force him to be better. Good luck, take a seat cushion for the bench you'll be sitting on.

He'll be at a top four club for the start of the season and playing CL next season.
