Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

What about from all those interested clubs mate? I find it all rather eerie.

I can't help but think there's more to this than we think.

Perhaps Ross hasn't said 'I'm leaving' but Koeman is forcing his hand (thinking back to when he said sign or be sold). He hasn't signed so he will '100%' be sold......

I'm wrong aren't I?

yeah, the loss of power to negotiate a fee annoys me the most.
I think United could be a runner, especially now the money is a bit lower. He may see more of an opportunity there than Spurs, City or CHelsea
If he has the pick of these clubs (and he will, given the absolute steal they'll get him for) he should choose Arsenal. Someone like Ramsey will be easy to displace from that team.

People didn't listen to what Koeman said, they just took the "100% leaving" and then assumed it 100% that was going to be during this window.

What he actually said was, that the player said he wanted a new challenge, had knocked back a very good contract offer and would therefore 100% be leaving. However, he followed that up by saying that when he was back from injury he would rejoin the first team squad, as he had 12 months left on his contract.

He also said there are no offers for him. Zero. Nil. Nada. People seem to be taking that quite badly.

So you think he could be retained because no club will come through with a high enough fee for Everton to accept - higher than the one he'll fetch next summer...ie nothing at all?

Thinking about it a City bid makes a lot of sense. Ross and Stones are close and you would imagine he has has talked to him about his contract and what his options are etc. City need to keep homegrown player quota up.

Whether he can force his way into the side or sit alongside Fabian Delph on the bench is another thing.

At the minute there's not a bid on the table from anyone.

Assuming that changes, then there'll no doubt be a couple who think they could maybe steal him for a fee that would make him a no risk gamble, as the window ticks down. At what level would we be tempted to say sod it and keep him on the books for a further year? dunno.

Would we be eligible for compo next summer if he walked on a free or would he be too old for us to qualify for it, as he's 24 mid season?

It's petty and childish

He's leaving because he's fallen out with Koeman, not because he has no love for Everton

When Martinez had a go at Baines we backed him

But with Koeman we're taking his side unconditionally for some reason
He's leaving because he's a bottler who can't take criticism and wants a best mate type manger. He's pathetic and derserves no sympathy or backing from any blue.

We backed Baines because it was obvious that El Fraudo was to blame from most of our problems and was throwing Baines under the bus to save his own skin. Koeman had a go at everyone who wasn't pulling their weight and Ross got a lot of that because he doesn't pull his weight enough. Koeman wanted Ross to push himself to improve and the stupid lad has obviously taken it as an insult rather then a motivational tool that a more intelligent person would of seen it as.

Spurs probably.

The only one off the table will be Liverpool.

I agree, i can't see Chelsea, Utd or City going any where near him .

Surely even Ross can see he will sit on Spurs bench for half the season.

If i were a betting man i'd go for Arsenal, he would probably get more starts there than at Spurs.

An outside shout for me would be Newcastle, newly promoted ( a challenge), the unmentionable manager would put his arm around him and make him his star player.

' big fish in small pond ' would suit Ross down to the ground, im sorry to say.
