Dont know whether that is true or not matey, but there is definetly an underlying reason behind all this. If there wasnt, Im sure Ross - or his agent- would be making noises and talking to the press. In the clubs, and Koemans defence, they have offered the lad a fantastic contract so that alone tells me that they want him to stay. Where ever he ends up, I wish him all the best.

Benitez isn't that kind of manager according to Gerrard.

I see him warming the bench at a top 6 side but eventually getting the chance to prove himself. Then he will either made the grade or end up moving to a mid/lower table side. I think he shows flashes of brilliance but not enough for a top 6 side and doesn't do the basics well enough for a team trying to break into the top 6. A change might resolve one or both of these problems but it's not going to happen at Everton so best for everybody if he leaves.

Ross is not a promising kid anymore. He's 23/24 now, the "proving " time of his career is over now.

All he is "proving" at the moment is that he has'nt got the stomach to knuckle down and fight for his position at his boyhood club.

Is a "challenge" sitting on the bench for one of the " top 6"?

Surely a bigger challenge for Ross, would be to stay and " challenge" Koeman by showing him what a good player he actually is and that he can put in good consistent performances on a regular basis .

But , if Ross's heart isnt in it anymore, then it's time for him and us to move on.

No idea if Ross's decision is related to that type of thing but I don't think you're quite understanding how things like that work, or how worrying it could be for a lad to be mixed up in those circles.
