Last Film You Watched

Watched the Shining for the umpteenth time last night.

It`s not a patch on the book, but still a masterpiece.

Jack Nicholson at his finest and given licence to go full on Nicolas Cage, with the over acting.

Every time I watch it, I see something I`ve missed.

Last night, it suddenly dawned on me, that the young lad who played his son, put in one hell of a performance.

Remember going the pictures to see that Nicholson was amazing, ate up the screen, some genuinely unnerving moments in that film.

It's on as a one off on Halloween night at the little cinema in Woolton ;)

That the old Woolton Cinema ? Thought that had shut down years ago. Remember seeing The Excorcist in Woolton when I was 15, don't know how I got in to this day. I was 15 and looked about 12, but remember about half way through the film, wishing I didn't get in. I was absolutely terrified.

Watched one about a plumber who came to fix some young blonde girls pipes, not much story, but they were joined by her friend, (another woman no less), and they got it on, very graphic, but it has a good cliff hanger because <spoiler alert: you never find out if he fixed the plumbing issue>.
Will check out another film on the site to see if the same girl can think of a way to get a pay rise from her boss. Hopefully this one has a happy ending.

Still going strong.

It has a licence now, so you can get a drink during the show.

Horror Channel last night - Demonic.

Good cast - Maria Bello and Frank Grillo as the leads.

Follows the Police investigation into a mass murder of a paranormal group at the venue of a previous murder.

One survivor and the video footage is recovered.

A mix of the Blair Witch and 7even.

Good in parts - old fashioned false scares and suspense, but ultimately becomes cliched, which lets it down.

yeah once you've seen Wan you've seen them all

Was he a foreign plumber who was visiting the exciting blonde, Theresa May ? (A nom de plume I think)

So Venom?

Tom Hardy is good in it and I am not really a fan but he is good.

The rest .... well the trailers make it look a lot more darker then it is, it's very PG13 and I think they have cut out a lot of the original cut.

It's a bit long or it feels long.

Just been to see A Star is Born. Thought it was great. I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t pick up a few Oscars. It’s not a classic but it’s shot incredibly, the music is really good and Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga are both great in it.
