Went to see this last - The Mule.

True story of a 90 yr old fella in States, who became a Coke courier for a Mexican Cartel.

Quite a gentle film all things considered, with a cracking cast.

Eastwood outstanding as the old fella.

I wouldn’t rush to see it, but it’s what I’d describe as a “ rainy day “ film.

Just watched Identity, pretty cool psychological thriller about a group of random people who all end up stuck in this hotel and one by one they get killed off, "And Then There Were None" could be an easy comparison but I think there were far more twists in this, and stuff that sometimes you wonder if its in peoples imagination or actually happening, decent film

I liked that one too. I heard the other day that John Cusack is always 2 hours late to work, then stands on set clapping his hands together telling people to hurry up.

The Lion King

10/10 obviously
Cracking film very underrated.

meh...both bland 4/10's in my book.

Just watched The Haunting again, the 1963 British film, such a classic film, the set design in this alone is amazing, along with the use of camera angles and sound. Kind of film you can watch over an over without getting board as you see new things in it each time, a real masterpiece.

aye, the banging walls scene is really well done...great ending too. The new series Haunting of Hill House pays worthy tribute.

watched a few recently:

Predator...the original and best. Arnie's 2nd best film after T1. 8/10.

Babies. Nicely filmed wordless non-judgemental reportage documentary about babies from Mongolia, Angola, Japan & USA. 8/10.

Black Swan. This promising director (Pi is stunning) continues to disappoint. Was worth a watch but cringey lesbian scene (obviously written by a man) and unbelievable main character (no one that timid gets to be chief dancer) weaken the overall effect. 6/10.

The Tower. Engaging but formulaic Korean disaster film ala Towering Inferno. 6/10.

Time of the Gypsies. 7/10. Kusturica epic for completists after you've enjoyed the meisterwerk that is Underground and the fun that is Black Cat White Cat.

Roma. Have to admit I'm in the minority here, as I didn't really get what the fuss is about over this one. Some great individual scenes (one very moving one - you'll know which one I mean if you've seen the film), but it just didn't really click with me. Beautifully shot, but I was left underwhelmed in a way which reminded me of my feelings about the hugely-acclaimed Dogman. But if you're already paying for Netflix, definitely give it a spin, as most seem to love it.

Considering going to the cinema today. Gotta choose between Alita: Battle Angel, Ben is Back and The Favourite. BiB seems most preferable after reading the synopsis.

An absolutely outstanding film :

I saw the Devil.

South Korean with English subs.

Dirty Harry meets Death Wish x 10.

One of the best “ revenge “ films I’ve ever seen, plus it turns the genre on its head - don’t want to give away too much !!

Unrelenting in its brutality and one hundred miles an hour all the way.

It@jaycee have you seen this ?

* it’s on Netflix

I remember seeing this when it first came out, and it certainly packs a punch. I've heard very good things about Burning, another Korean film that's out the moment, so hope to catch that before it disappears from cinemas.
