Oh come on mate I've already put it up 3/4 of a point.I hope I don’t have to point out film ratings are subjective.
Did they show his most recent one, The Image Book? I saw it at the IMAX (of all places) and really liked it. The guy in the seat next to me huffed and sighed all the way through it, though - think he hadn't got the memo that Godard gave up on narrative cinema around half a century ago lolGodard season on Mubi has been great.
I might try for this at the weekend... although in all honesty I think I preferred Malick when he was a very mysterious 2-film wonder.Seeing A Hidden Life on Sunday wahooo

Excellent watch. One fault I would pick is I
Saved me 20 sovs that.Excellent watch. One fault I would pick is I think they may have killed off one of the 2 too early . The dialogue between them would have made it even better .
That rings a bell now. Do you do the MUBI subscription that includes a cinema ticket every week? If so, does it work well?Yeah, they are showing it. Although they did show it when it first came out (I think they bought the rights for it).
I don't think he was quite as shocked as the young couple who spilled in a few minutes before the film began, clutching giant buckets of popcorn and other sweets & drinks. I think they must've thought "hey, let's see a film in IMAX", but from their reactions it looked like Godard's latest video essay wasn't quite what they'd banked on; Bumblebee it ain't. I'm sure the miserable old sod would have loved the idea of this going on.Ahaa you have to respect that guy ignoring everything from 1975ish onwards, in a way.
Weirdly, Cineworld also have it. Although the nearest one that has it is about a 45 min drive from me, so I'm still weighing it up.Apparently this one actually had a script!
A few reviews say it's his best in ages as it fuses both old and new so let's hope the 4 people watching the film at the start make it to the end. Seeing it at a Showcase, oddly.
Fyi, there's a website called Feverup.com that does lots of discounts etc, inc for Cineworld and Odeon. Don't know how much difference it will make in your area, but near me (SW London) I get tickets for £8.50 (or less) instead of £12/13...Weirdly, Cineworld also have it. Cineworld used to do a monthly unlimited card for £13 and there was one right outside my office showing films at 440. Used to go a couple of times a week and have the whole place to myself. Then they changed the film times and also they show a lot of rubbish.Fyi, there's a website called Feverup.com that does lots of discounts etc, inc for Cineworld and Odeon.
