Last Film You Watched

Bit of this later on Film4, outstanding film.

Absolutely superb.

One of the best British films of all time.

Just been to watch the new Star Wars.

Big spectacular looking fun for a while but then it just drags due to it having to slavishly serve the entire saga's bloated mess of self importance, over earnest morality, fan service and plot armour. The plot armour is strangely unnecessary however as most character deaths seem to be of no consequence whatsoever to their ongoing involvement in the story.

Did enjoy it though. Kylo Ren slicing through aliens, big spooky statue planets, light sabres, space fights and light speed jumps are all good. Pretty much everything involving original trilogy characters was tiresome cloying sentimentality though.

Hopefully that's the whole trilogy, prequel and sequels thing completely binned off now and the inevitable flogging of the license will be having a bit of spectacular fun with the SW universe and not be bogged down with the weight of it's history and fanboy fury.

Just watched the sisters brothers.

Knew nothing about this film. Just popped up on the sky box and I thought that must be decent considering the cast.

Great film. Takes you on a real journey with four really great characters and a final act that takes you through all kinds of emotions.

Absolutely loved it.

Same, thought it was excellent.

Loved this too. Although beforehand I was a bit concerned about it being his first film in English, Audiard is one director who's never let me down. Before this, he gave us A Prophet, Rust & Bone, Dheepan, etc. Probably the best director who's currently working, IMHO.

Did 1917 earlier, for sure go and see it, I found the one shot thing a distraction though. I was watching the filming camera technique at times rather then the film if you get me, looking for cuts. Also a few spinning around bits made me dizzy haha
Great film, go see it, I really hope it encourages more people to learn about the first World War.
My great grandad was a blacksmith over there, wasnt even part of the fighting, and he was disturbed for the rest of his life.

Oh god this was grim. Apparently it has had a fair few walk outs in cinemas, which is quite embarrassing really.. It's difficult watching, especially the first 30 mins, but its necessary.

Set in the Black War (admittedly, the first time I have heard of it), it's just an onslaught of the the affects of Colonialism

I cannot fathom how anyone can be proud of the British Empire.

Very good.

Went to see it last night, magnificent.

Loved the way all the big names only got cameos and a relatively unknown got the lead.
