It’s a film that turns out to be much better than you think it’s going to be.

Sam Rockwell is a great actor.

Had a bit of a Tarantino-fest during the international break.

The Hateful Eight and finally caught up on Jackie Brown.

The former was overblown, self indulgent but well written and entertaining enough, 45 minutes too long though. The latter was tremendous, absolute sin that it took me so long to watch it.

Also, for all of you catching Seaspiracy or anything related to fishing, massive book recommendation for you: Mark Kurlansky - Cod, the biography of the fish that changed the world. I can't speak highly enough of this book, it's genuinely one of the most interesting things I've ever read and I go back to it at least once every 18 months.
Jackie Brown is defo the most underrated Tarantino film. Love it.

Surprisingly, very good. Dials down the spectacle and goes for a more intimate, character driven apocalyptic drama and that helps you forgive some of the 'hang on a minute' moments. Well, apart from having you believe that Shurrup Buttwad's marriage is on the rocks 'cos he cheated on Morena Baccarin. There is no universe in which that happens.

On Prime.
This. When I watched Homeland, Always found it unbelievable that anyone would be unfaithful to her.

Tombstone with Kurt Russell & co, thoroughly enjoyed esp the scene where they appear to be leaving town, only Wyatt isn’t on the train.
Might rewatch Unforgiven next, prob my fav western of them all.

Unforgiven seems to get forgotten about when people talk about the best Westerns.

It`s close on being the perfect Western.

Tombstone is one of my fave films of all time. Love the scenes with Doc H & Johnny Ringo.

This. Its certainly right up there with my favorite westerns.

Unforgiven is one of my favourite films ever.

For me, Unforgiven is overrated.

Tombstone my favourite ever western ;)

Two I watched recently,1st one is "The boy" on Netflix, theres two films with this title, the one I watched was the one with a picture of a burning building, the boy in the title is a budding serial killer and this is about his early life
Its an odd one, very mundane and slow paced but fasinatining to watch the build up to the end, wont be to everybodies taste but worth a watch if you dont need cars and guns to get your thrills
The 2nd one was Empire, losely based around a real life robbery in NY,it stars the Rock so you know what kind of film its going to be,the part I remember most is as the credits rolled, the Rock actually has a personal hairdresser on set, what a cushy job that is

I’ve got The Boy saved, good reviews.

Watched a half decent one last night - Lost Girls.

Based on a true story. The mother of a missing call girl in California, harasses the local police to take her daughter’s disappearance seriously, leading to them stumbling across a serial killer - the Long Beach Killer.

For me, Unforgiven is overrated.

Tombstone my favourite ever western ;)

Tombstone is great. Westerns are one of my favorite genres. I LOVE older films like Once Upon A Time In The West, The Ox Bow Incident, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Winchester 73. Unforgiven (as much as I love it) is only my third favorite Clint Eastwood western - For A Few Dollars More and Plate Rider top it.

And yes - I love Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, more modern and a completely different style, but still fabulous!

Right - off to play Red Dead Redemption II now!

Not seen Unforgiven for donkeys so I'll have to get round to it as I can't really remember much. Tombstone is ace.

Watched the Man With No Name trilogy and loved For A Few Dollars More....Lee Van Cleef is brilliant in that.

I like Django Unchained but do think it's a little bloated. The Hateful Eight I think is brilliant though and doesn't feel overly long to me. It's not a very Western Western though - almost like a stage play or Hitchcock's Rope.

I've got "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" on the shelf here and still haven't got round to it. About 3 hours long apparently but I did like the directors other film with Brad Pitt (name escapes me) so I'll no doubt find time at some point.
