Last Film You Watched

Just been to see The Last Bus , brilliant, sentimental, heart-warming film. It’d bring a tear to a glass eye.

Good film this, Barry was my least favourite in Auf Wiedersane but i think Timothy Spall is a fine actor and plays people in there 50s + so well

Yes, he was very good playing Turner and Lowry , I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves.

I could probably name a lot of the characters in that. But not because of that movie, but because I like Clancy.

I had some real problems with the two Harrison Ford Jack Ryan movies........ (for that matter, almost all of them, except for The Hunt for Red October. Though Liev Schriber made a good Clark in Sum of All Fears)

Didn’t Clancy kick off when they cast Ford in the Jack Ryan role as he said he was far too old?

Honestly, no idea. I do think Clancy missed a trick when he sold the rights, as they aren't doing a great job IMO.

Sum of All Fears was *ok*
Without Remorse.....well that one pisses me off even more. Its my favorite book and they really screwed it over. It was decent as a generic action movie, but awful as a telling of Kelly becoming Clark. I was even excited to see Michael B Jordan as Kelly, i thought that would really work. Just a shame the films story and writing was so generically crap.

I didn't even enjoy the Jack Ryan show that Amazon did. That crap movie with Chris Pine.....all the Rainbow 6 games bastardising the source material (except the original which was a purely tactical shooter)......what the hell was H.A.W.X. Ubisoft just slap Clancy's name on stuff in the hopes it sells.

"Kate" on Netflix the other night.
In the past I really haven't bothered watching films but of late have tended to watch things just based on the trailers.
This film pure nonsense which managed to somehow keep my attention.
To think that slasher movies were once criticised for being bloodthirsty and this takes it to another level.

Just watched this over the last couple of nights. Nothing original in it, but stylish and the fight scenes were decent. Really like Winstead from when she was in Scott Pilgrim, and Woody Harrelson is always good imo.

Damn it WAS Jodie Comer! I couldn't remember who she was and it kept bugging me when watching the movie. She threw me off the trail by not speaking scouse lol

When I saw the trailer I thought it was Charlize Theron!

Partly. Also filmed in Sheffield, Blackburn and Leeds. Don't know which parts were shot where but the flats are in Sheffield. Maybe the terraced streets were took from various locations rather than one.

Don't Breath 2 - Enjoyed the first film... The second is nowhere near as decent, but still watchable.

Watched that 'Kate' on Netflix last night with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson.

Wasn't really sure what to make of it tbh. The cinematography (Japan must be an absolute dream for a director to shoot a film in) and fight choreography was largely pretty great (and violent af).. but the plot was a bit wonky and the acting was cringe in a few places (didn't care for that young 'Ani' character at all). Wouldn't call it a waste of 2 hours like but it wasn't exactly stellar either.

It's not a patch on the original, the villains of the piece have a plan beyond stupidity and the redemption arc for The Blind Man is a bridge way too far but I kind of enjoyed it's sleazy video nasty 80's slasher feel.

Mission: Impossible (1996)

Never watched it before; wish I hadn't had bothered now. Two OK-ish set piece moments, semi-decent opening, absolutely nothing else, and Tom Cruise's constant inane grin in this grated on my nerves.

Emmanuelle Beart, who I'd never heard of before, is a looker in this though. Reminds me of Emilia Clarke.

Gripping

Just recently re-read that one! So good! I do remember Clancy caught flank from officials in the DOD for how close he got it to their warplans and accused him of using leaks, when he just theorized everything and made some really good guesses.

Without Remorse though, by far my favorite Clancy story!
