Last Film You Watched

I think that's what I never understood as a move, to go with the fake hype creation - there shouldn't be a prerequisite to watch a ton of series to understand 1 film, imo. They could've recounted it somehow, or something to show at least the gist of what happened, what Westview is, etc.. She just mentions she saw Vision die twice IIRC in the DS2 movie and that's that. Also called herself the scarlet witch pretty early tbh.

Yes, but isn't the bold the whole problem in the first place? lol just pretend you watched Endgame, then watched DS2, and tell me you'd be able to link it all together. You wouldn't.

Wanda: "I'm the Scarlet Witch"

Audience: "She's the what? Who's the Scarlet Witch? Last time I saw her she was crying by a lake."

Watched The Northman last night.

Definitely lives up to the hype.
I really enjoyed Robert Eggers previous movies (The VVitch and The Lighthouse) and this shows what he can achieve with a Hollywood budget.

Visually it's spectacular, the sets, costumes, locations and framing for every shot are on point.

The Viking raid scene in particular was incredible.

I've heard some people refer to it as "this generations 'Gladiator' "
Not for me tbh. Whilst this is an excellent film and I highly recommend people go and see it, it's not quite on the same level as Gladiator for me as I felt the pacing was a bit off the mark in parts.

Other than that though, it's great.
I watched the lighthouse on acid. Set the tone for a difficult experience

I would to an extent, but also we're all nerds here ffs lol
I generally agree - it's dumb how they did it and my friend pieced together stuff with minimal questions and not everyone will be a nerd (enough) or even arsed enough to know. Realistically I hope this is the first and last time they do it.

Also not knowing who the Scarlet Witch is after the poster of the movie has her front and centre is really bizarre lol

As I said - it's explained enough to keep you guessing ("the kids you created" and all that when he went to visit her in the orchard) or to go a bit over what happened without revealing the whole thing. Still find it annoying, as they could've kept some part of it to show the struggle/kids/her embracing the tome earlier on - Wandavision ended on a "cliffhanger" showing her dabbling in the multiverses after all!

Also I think they can't do anything with anyone except Agatha from there, even if that - White/normal Vision were destroyed at the end when she let go of Westview. Unless, of course, they retcon it back in.

Also most media seems to give it a 6.5 to a 7 out of 10, oddly enough, hah.

This is a neat little creature feature. Irish production, clunky old trawler encounters some strange phenomena and it turns into a fight for survival. Its a cut above this, as its got really well drawn characters in plausible situations who make realistic decisions. Some good 'ick' moments, minimal but fine effects and given that it was made just before covid, has some remarkably prescient themes.

On Prime. @COYBL25

Not everyone who watches them is a nerd and they won’t know who the Scarlet Witch is poster or not. Like imagine when Kang comes into the films and people haven’t watched Loki? Vast majority of MCU viewers are just fans of the films and nothing more.

White Vision lives btw no retconning req.

I’d been looking at that, after reading the glowing reviews ;)

Saw this randomly on TV a few months ago; was pretty good. Random as Hell towards the end though.

Having watched heat it's got to be up there with the best movies ever made. Absolute masterpiece Pacino and de Niro. Incredible scenes. My boss won't be happy I've been sat here in my pants watching it drinking wine and eating curry. But I guess he'll never know unless he's infiltrated an Everton chat room and identified me through my forum ID. Which he shouldn't have done because he should be working the lazy toad
