Sorority House Massacre

Thought this was gonna be borderline unwatchable after the first 20 minutes, but it improved a lot as it got underway. Decent tension, good looking women and typical wooden acting. Kills were a bit boring. Still a lot better movie than Scream 4. 5/10

This was on Film4 last night - Underwater.

It’s a shame really, as it had all the ingredients to be a really good sci-fi horror - cracking cast and set, some incredible special effects, but it all felt a bit flat in the end.

Set in an underwater, deep sea drilling station. Something causes the station to implode, leaving the remaining survivors, to try and seek safety on what remains of the station on the sea bed.

Something nasty is out there.

A mix of Aliens meets the Abyss.

Despite the cast giving it their all, it lacks the atmospheric tension of Aliens and never manages to really get going.

Visually stunning though and Kirsten Stewart is really good in the lead ( Ripley ) role.

Watched it ages back for the Alien-like premise and Stewart, an actress I've really grown to like.

Alien took its time building a cast of unique characters you cared about, so when the Alien did finally start ripping them apart, you were invested and scared for them. This film went straight into set pieces and the clamour for survival and we never get to know or care about anyone. Poorly paced and scripted, a missed opportunity

Spot on.

It deserves to be re done, as everything was there for a really good film.

A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge - 7/10

I hear people hate the sequel, but I actually enjoyed it. The first film is scarier (by far) and utilizes Freddy better, but 'Revenge' was still decent fun. Also I thought the acting was better (less annoying) in the second one. The original is still superior though.

Men

Watched it last night.
Rory Kineer is brilliant in it, which is just as well as he's in it loads ( that'll make sense when you watch it)
I'll be honest here,I liked the film alot but when the credits rolled...I looked at the wife and we both had question marks above our heads.
Bonkers !!! And not to be watched with your heavily pregnant other
7.5 / 10

Watching the first one, as a teenager, was genuinely the most scared I’ve ever been watching a film.
