Last Film You Watched

Mission: Impossible 7/10
Mission: Impossible II 7/10

The second film might be the slightly better movie overall, but the first one has nostalgia going for it in my book because of the N64 game. The first one had better action (less slow motion stuff), while the second film had the better cast (except for the very cartoony villains with some of the worst accents I've heard in a while). Oh, and Thandie Newton being a godess will forever be a plus.

I also just love the mask gimmicks in these movies, as silly as they are. It just cracks me up every time.

2 always gives me shampoo advert vibes.

White Noise.

Good : The cinematography. Theres a vibrant colour and texture to every shot. The production and costume design. The brilliantly detailed sets and the clothing match in palette and paint the period beautifully. Adam Driver and Raffey Cassidy are magnetic.

Bad : Literally everthing else. Terrible script, bizarre dialogue overlapping with non-sensical situations. Greta Gerwig is bewildered, Andre 3000 underused and the musical number is probably a by-product of having such an expensive 1980’s supermarket than a creative decision.

Could have been amazing if it decided what it was. Theres some great horror / creeping dread going on but it pulls it all apart with a weak 3rd act, and ultimately wastes everyones time and about $100 million.

Thanks, but I`, still going to watch it.

Watched The Last Heist (2022) a couple of days ago. It's a typical British gangster bank robbery movie with the poor acting that is all too common in these types of films, but at least there is an interesting twist with this one.
2½ out of five.

Watched Gladiator again. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Mid/late 90s Russel Crowe was an ULTIMATE bad man. Very angry.

So were you? ? Joaquin Phoenix played a good part as well. Very creepy.

Just re watched Bowfinger, well funny, hadn't seen this for years, really under rated Eddie Murphy comedy
Late 90's Murphy produced some watchable stuff. I watched Life a while back. Also pretty decent.

Watched it last night Joey.

I thought it was glossy, bland, but entertaining.

It would make a good “ Sunday Evening “ film.
Watched it yesterday as well... I have to agree with this assessment. Nothing really to write home about. ?‍♂️

Misha and the Wolves ( feature length documentary on Netflix )

A Belgian lady claims to have lived with and been brought up by wolves, as a little girl,in a Belgium forest, after escaping the Nazi roundups of Belgium Jews, during the Second World War.

Subsequently, releasing a best selling book and a film about her life.

However, some things don’t add up and things start to unravel for her.

A fascinating watch.
Im lining this one up for my next day off

Watched 2 last night - With varying degrees of quality

First up was 'You Won't Be Alone' - A film I was really looking forward to due to the critical praise it's received. However, I found it to be a massive slog, completely devoid of scares and massively pretentious

The second was the utterly charming 'Brian and Charles' - whose 'Wes Anderson on a shoestring' charm had me fully invested in the gleefully bonkers story
