Recently rewatched the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies with our kids (the oldest 2 had seen them before) and am amazed anew at what utter trash these movies are. Ok, they're fine. It's like if you asked your teenager to paint his/her favorite Picasso and then hang it in your house. They have sentimental value because you know what it is supposed to mean, or maybe if you've never been to an art museum you think they look really nice, but what absolute pieces of trash those movies are. /fin

Thet are a masterpiece when you put them up against the Hobbit series of Movies.

It may not surprise you but I'm not a huge fan of that movie/s either. But I do like the Rings of Power series, which is one of @Nymzee's favorites.

The Hobbit movies were crap.

Lord of the Rings were alright.

Death Race 2000 (1975)

Very silly cheap looking schlocky pseudo social commentary / violent action flick that is all over the place. On the plus side there's a young Stallone as some kind of odd 1930s mobster cosplayer, fun kills, nudity and David Carradine dancing around in some very skimpy underpants if you like that kind of thing.

Comfortably better than the LOTR trilogy.

Absolute banger. Such a fun movie, with one of the highest kill counts in any hammer film I've seen. And Lynne Frederick, wow, what a stunner. 8/10

It had some of the best climbing stunts and camera work, I’ve ever seen.

Truly stomach churning.

Which makes the dreadful script all the more baffling.

My God, that was scary as hell.
