So, Val Kilmers son has grown up...(Driver) and Ashley Judd is a recovering alcy having done a couple of stretches for fraud. Portman has taken on the homicide detective baton from her step dad... set piece, police convoy, ambush, one of Sizemore's kids is deputy in Drivers gang and they spring Driver and spray the cops all over the ambush site. 3 hour cat n mouse and we get to a diner, turns out Portman and Driver were knocking boots before either realised who the other was...

If Mann’s involved it should be good. I’m wondering if it will be the movie equivalent of an anthology type sequel e.g. the general premise is the same with unconnected storyline and characters. Val Kilmer character had a child in the first one…it could be something to do with them if they have grown up in a life of crime

what a banger, i had no idea this film even existed until tonight
 
Saw "Tin and Tina" a Spanish horror film. Decent and watchable. Some creepy scenes. Was expecting more given the casting, but it was good.

Saw "Incantation" a Taiwanese horror film in the found-footage genre. Sort of like a combination of "Blair Witch Project" and "The Ring"...decent plot and some excellent and very creepy scenes. Overall, I would say a good film, but about 20 minutes too long.

Rewatched "Barbarian" an American horror film, and liked it even more the second time. Very ridiculous premise but the fact that it's well-cast and well-scripted made the ridiculousness all the more enjoyable. Combines lots of tried-and-true scary elements: serial killers, tunnels, monsters, etc.

The first one was was so OTT that doing a sequel was always going to be a challenge. And so it turned out to be the case. Mindless nonsense.
