Last Film You Watched

This is probably a silly question but...do I need to watch Dune 1 first to understand what's going on?

Yes you do, because the first film and the second film, is really one film split into two. ( rather than a six hour film ! )

They`re both incredible films and when the second is released to stream, I`m going to put a day to one side and watch them back to back.

I have a feeling this is one of those which is in a lot of people's top ten but rewatched The Untouchables last night as my wife randomly wanted to watch it as had never seen it

It obviously looks good as a period piece but I couldn't believe how bad the acting was. I don't remember thinking that last time I watched it a good few years back. Costner basically doesn't act for the whole movie, he just mutters his lines and never changes his face. There's a scene the first time he shoots somebody and I think it's supposed to show he didn't want to be violent but my god it's some of the worst acting I've seen from a supposedly decent actor... I was laughing out loud at how bad some of it was

A lot of the bit part characters performance and script wise belong in a b-movie

Edit: Connery's was a decent character but Oscar winning performance, no way

Speaking of the script, I thought it was terrible for 80% of the film and was amazed to see it was written by David Mamet.

Then the music by Ennio Morricone sounded like it was made for a different movie or was just left over from some other movie. It was great like, but It didn't fit the film.

Anyways my reaction is more because I remembered it fondly and when I check the reviews I see it was generally received quite well but I think it's a bit of a stinker

You not like Scottish Irishmen then? As mentioned before, Scottish russian in hunt for red october, Scottish Spaniard/Egyptian in highlander, a Scottish Arab chieftain in the wind and the lion, even a Scottish dragon in dragonheart. He earned a lot of good will with the Bond franchise. Scottish time traveler in timebandits. Them boyo's from north of the border get everywhere don't they.

Yeah, I wasnt a fan either. And absolutely agree re: Morricone's soundtrack, one of his most confusing
