Last Film You Watched

Second film I think I’ve seen a few times late at night on the Hub
The general rule of thumb for me is: If you can't remember whether you've seen it or not, then it was so rubbish the first time round, that your brain has blocked it from your memory! 😂

The bloke can handle himself, that's for sure.

His fight scenes look less choreographed and more realistic, than in most other action films.
*handle

FFS, typed too fast and didn't double-check it to make sure that it made sense! 🤦‍♂️

Just been to see Heretic and thought it was pretty good. Hugh Grant does a really good job, as did the female leads, particularly Chloe East. Felt a bit like Hugh Grant was playing a hybrid of himself and Boris Johnson which is scary enough without any other shenanigans.

Didn’t actually find the film that scary in general though, more tense.

It's one of those action films that's been edited to appear as if shot in a single, continuous take. Not bad, but not great,

Been on a Scott Adkins film binge lately for some reason.
Just hear me out... He's films aren't that bad. Granted, he's no action film star like a Steven Seagal or Jean-Claude Van Damme in their peak
😜, but they're still watchable.

I like a bit of Scott Adkins now and then. Enjoyed Accident Man (1 & 2) and The Debt Collector.

Will give that a go over the weekend. I thought Avengement was a half decent one of his, some very well choreographed and brutal fight scenes to be enjoyed.

That's one where they make him bite the stairs, and he gets his choppers knocked out... 😵

Definitely one of his better one.

The Substance. Surprised by how good this was. Had heard it was a body horror, but probably wasn’t expecting it to go as far as it did, and also not expecting it to have real depth in terms of the story and themes. Some genuinely funny satire on youth, aging, objectification, the commoditisation of beauty, mixed in with practical effects that wouldn’t be out of place in The Thing or The Fly.

Lots of nods to other horror films in there, and some great cinematography and editing. Very good indeed.
