Home invasion type film, but it isn't quite what you expect, well worth a watch

Starts off really well, really good for to thirds of the film then to me it kind of faded out, worth a watch if you have nothing else planned

Just watched Incident in Ghostland.

That is one messed up film.

It`s a very well put together mish mash of a good few horror films, with it`s own twist in the second act, which I didn`t see coming.

Crystal Reed, who played Beth in the lead was outstanding.

I`d have happily gone to the cinema to see it.

Told you it's not quite as it seems, I was surprised by it as I'd never heard anybody mention it

Saw the winner of the Palme D’or today. Anora. Well worth catching. Don’t know if it’s as great as the hype but certainly worth a watch. Saw a review that said it made Pretty Woman look like a Disney movie. Seems a fair assessment.

Heretic

Thought Hugh grant did a very good job. I think it’s quite a difficult job to try and make a film interesting with just 3 main characters. The first half of the movie was much better than the second half of the movie and I guess that’s why the trailers made it look more interesting that what it is but I still enjoyed some of the dialogue scenes in the film. It’s more of a thinkers film about ideologies rather than a film with lots of action.

6.5/10 for me

It’s disturbing and unsettling, rather than being gory, without loads of false jump scares, which is why it’s so effective.

It must be incredibly difficult to come up with a fresh take on the home invasion film too.

One tiny criticism, would be, that at 1hr 30, it was too short and didn’t give the first part of the film time to fully develop.

So are you giving it two thumbs up, and recommending giving it a watch, mate?

A couple I've seen before but ended up watching again

Interstellar - Incredible but the successful ending is a bit of a cop-out that may as well be "We did it with magic". Gets away with it though.

Death Of Stalin - Very skilfully keeps maintains a light tone with horrifically dark material and then Simon Russell Beale and Steve Buscemi show incredible gear shifts in the final act. Not overly concerned with historical accuracy though so wouldn't take it as a history lesson.
