Just got in from it.

Visually stunning, both in the sets and cinematography and very theatrical in its presentation.

Nicholas Hoult was outstanding, Ralph Ineson very good too. Willem Defoe went full Nic Cage with his wild overacting.

Not sure about Bill Skarsgard as Nosferatu or Lilly Rose Depp.

Won’t be for everyone, but I thought it was really good.
Yeah I thought Bill and Lilly overacted a little

Rule no 1 in the overact acting playbook - If you’re going to overact, don’t try and be subtle about it : Nic Cage.

Willem Defoe just went nuts and it worked
Yeah I think his characters version of Van Helsing is a little eccentric and the template for playing that role was Anthony Hopkins (I rewatched Dracula last night and it’s still great) so it worked for Defoe. The other conclusion I drew was that Aaron Taylor Johnson was not cast well. His performance was poor I thought.

It was an ok movie for me, nothing more.

I agree, some of it very good and some not so good.

I reckon Russel Hoult may get some nominations and the production / cinematography almost certainly will.

Saw Nosferatau last night, great overall, fabulous looking film, particularly in the first part, the count is really well realised, some really creepy moments.
Score is excellent, cast is pretty much on point. Lily miss Depp is a bit of a weird one to watch at times cos it's almost like watching an AI generated female Johnny Depp, they're uncannily alike.
It did lose its way a bit in the second half for me, some of the timeliness don't add up and it loses some of the ethereal strangeness it built up in opening hour as it becomes a more conventional narrative.

Overall, cracking movie though and definitely one for the big screen.

Curiously, my recent viewing of The Croods: A New Age featured an extremely unremarkable voice performance from Cage. It wasn’t until the credits that I realised he was in it. His style relies massively on his physical performance.
