Got to see The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies yesterday.
Quite simply brilliant, providing you don't attach yourself to the book, although there is far more canon in this one than the last.
Smaug is terrifyingly good although all too brief, the White Council/Sauron scene equally so. Onto the battle itself and there's the usual lashings of CGI and crazy happenings thrown in amongst some very, very good acting, particularly from Freeman and Armitage.
The end is slightly weird though. I think nearly every man and his dog has read The Hobbit so I don't think there are too many spoilers but I won't describe how it ends other than unlike Return Of The King where there were nearly ten "ends", this movie hardly even has one. No closure on hardly any of the storylines. Didn't notice this until later at home that night, but because I've read the books over and over I know how everything ends up, but watching this film, a lot of people may walk out with many questions, particularly surrounding the stories of Dain, Tauriel, Bard, Balin and co.
Still, boss. 8.5 magic rings out of 10.
