Last Film You Watched

Watched Predestination last night. Thought I was watching the wrong thing for about 40 mins! Pretty good, was a bit confusing, although that might be cos I wasn't paying complete attention.

Saw the majority of LAst Vegas last night inbetween osrting the baby out.

Must admit i liked it. I was wanting to watch it and from what i could see it was what i wanted it to be, funny but not full on funny. the actors played the parts well, especially Morgan Freeman and Robert De Niro. It may have gone a little bit off the rails at times and the way the film ended up was a tad bit predictable from the first 20 minutes but all in all a great random film to watch if you think morgan freeman is capable of making you laugh.

Watched 'Network' the other night. According to Netflix it is an 'academy award winning masterpiece'. Wouldn't go that far. It was ok, bit waffly. A rather more subtle satire on the beast that is media/TV than we get these days.

Got to see The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies yesterday.

Quite simply brilliant, providing you don't attach yourself to the book, although there is far more canon in this one than the last.

Smaug is terrifyingly good although all too brief, the White Council/Sauron scene equally so. Onto the battle itself and there's the usual lashings of CGI and crazy happenings thrown in amongst some very, very good acting, particularly from Freeman and Armitage.

The end is slightly weird though. I think nearly every man and his dog has read The Hobbit so I don't think there are too many spoilers but I won't describe how it ends other than unlike Return Of The King where there were nearly ten "ends", this movie hardly even has one. No closure on hardly any of the storylines. Didn't notice this until later at home that night, but because I've read the books over and over I know how everything ends up, but watching this film, a lot of people may walk out with many questions, particularly surrounding the stories of Dain, Tauriel, Bard, Balin and co.

Still, boss. 8.5 magic rings out of 10.

The Running Man

So boss.

I feel someone should do a modern remake/sequel of this. Could work well.

Boss Arnie line: '[after strangling Sub-Zero with barbed wire)] What a pain in the neck.'

And so on.
