Last Film You Watched

The Road.

Jesus it was hard watching but thoroughly worth it, one of the better films I've seen in recent memory. Honestly shed a tear or two, not even arsed.

Watched The Avengers tonight. Good film, defo worth a watch for kids and adults. 8/10

The cabin in the woods. Good story and pretty entertaining throughout. Much better than I anticipated. 8/10

So The Cabin in the Woods is mental, yet brilliant.

Saw that yesterday.

Odd film. Very self aware but pretty fun.

Its biggest charm was that it just thought, '**** it, I'm following this idea through to the end', even though it was mental. I enjoyed the moral dilemma notion.

The Road.

I had a hard time following The Road, the way his wife just decides to leave when the World has just fallen apart really doesn't make any sense. Then they decide to leave their super stocked up bunker for some other reason maybe apparent in the book. I just tuned out there. Book of Eli is a much better apocalyptic road movie I thought.

4/10

Cabin in the Woods... good concept in a way... but too light on, not enough story development, or too much, kind of leaving the characters not much to play with. I think the 'puppeteers' could have been done in a completely different way... leaving in the same kind of humour but putting them in a more creative setting. I felt that about the whole concept though, the Cabin in the Woods could have been An Apartment in the City, or a Caravan in the Desert. Underdone but could have been excellent. you could have at least added another 20 minutes of the Gods Blowing sh*t up.

5/10

Regarding his missus chucking it in, it must be pretty bad what would happen if she stayed alive that's what I was thinking at the time. And they had to leave the bunker because they were going to get found by bad people or something.
Sure there's a couple of plot holes, it wasn't that which gripped me, it was the bond between father and son, and the acting itself, Viggo is a God really. Every move gripped me.

Battleship. Better than I expected for a film based on a board game. Some good action scenes and good CGI aliens. Even the story was quite entertaining. 7/10

Watched two over the weekend- safe house and Money ball- both really good actually- moneyball was made better by the kid out of super bad and Brad Pitt playing the main roles- good easy watch.

Moneyball- 7/10
Safe House- 8/10
