Le$cott out of shitty!

Do you know something I don't or just take the tabloids as gospel?

I'm extrapolating from the data available; who you have bought, who you have sold. The managers you've gone through in the last five or six years, the size of your squad, the amount of transfer money you've pissed up the wall (Jo for example), the selling of Dunne, and the likely selling of Bellamy and a policy of recruitment reminiscent of Newcastle before their fall.

That is, signing anyone with a reputation (irregardless of whether you scouted him or the manager wants him) by offering large fees, large pay packets and inevitably attracting a kind of player that shall we say, doesn't pride themselves on working for a team but for personal fiscal gain.

It also shows they are after marquis signings. Glamour acquisitions reminiscent of the galaticos at real madrid. Only they haven't got a pedigree to attract that kind of player so they offer to double their wages. What does that achieve - it attracts mercenaries. Its one thing having a plan to be the biggest club in the world. Its another coming up with an effective strategy across the board to achieve it. At the moment they are scatter gun with tactics, with backroom staff, with acquisitions, scouting and recruitment. There is no stability, no looking at the big picture. /they are buying so many good players and then just waiting to see which ones stick.

Come on...if you lot aren't deluded and have taken any notice of the footballing world for the last year you can see that our owners are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure City win trophies. No offence guys but in the next few years City are more likely to challenge for major honours than Everton are and if you can't see that then im afraid it's rose-tinted specs all the way.

That's not even a diss on your club...I acknowledge that on a pittence Moyes has assembled a brilliant side who could quite easily win the odd cup but to think City won't come close to trophies in the next few years is pretty daft and that's why I can reasonably suggest that Lescott saw the opportunity and went for it.

He went for the money. When he joined you you were beneath us in the league and in the strength of the squad, we were in the Fa-Cup final 08/09 & the semifinal in the League Cup 07/08 (I think it was).

I still say that if Everton and ManC could field their best 11 on the pitch now, we would beat you 6-7/10 times. Not because our players are so much better than yours. Taken position by position your squad might even be slightly better or more known that ours are, but as we showed you last season we are the better team. Mostly due to the fact that we didn't buy the big names, instead Moyes went for players that would mesh well with the team and improve us. Our players strengthen eachother and make the team stronger, yours doesn't. At least not to the same degree.

By going for big names you got good players with very good skills, but players that don't have the ability to work together week in and week out. In some matches your teamwork were good, but in others you flaunder. It takes time to mesh a team together and by constantly buying and selling players you don't get that familiarity between the players and therefore you won't get out the best of each player.

I was surprised you finished as high as you did previous season and I actually think that if you hadn't bought so many players this summer you would most likely break into the top4 since your squad would have meshed now, but now you already have 4-5 new players (and will probably get a few more) that need to get to know the style of play and their teammates and that will hinder you in games until all have learned to play together.

If Man Citeh can challenge for the title this year....Tottenham can to because IMO they have a better squad.

Pundits, eh? Know nothing.

Oh and Citeh for all their cash spent, do not have 1 creative midfield player. The one who is (Ireland) is on his way out.

For those who haven't seen it. Always ace to see a Lescott own goal.

The reason why I link it though is not that, it's because I have a fascination with goalkeepers expressions after they have conceeded a goal. It's wonderful, and they well know they're being filmed which influences what they choose to do.

I'm a particular fan of the "distant, male rape victim stare". In which both Hart and Given give some wonderful examples of here.

Much obliged, Chico. Enjoyed that.

Defeats to Sporting and New York, a draw with Club America, and a comfortable mauling from Inter (who were playing their first game back after summer holidays).

A new football dynasty, deffo. DEFFO.

.

I agree, too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Or too many (Gary) Cooks spoiling the broth

Inter's b-team wasnt it? No Snijeder, no Eto or Milito, no Cesar....

And Lescott looks like he's been on the pies.

I watched the first 10 minutes last night. Non of Citeh's players could string a few passes together...and it looks like Yaya is gonna be their defensive mid rather than this box to box powerhouse Citeh heads think he is.
