@catcherintherye saw a Leeds blog that said rumours are if the Qatari's dont buy the club they may sponser them via Qatar airways for £28 million a season

Thoughts? Would such a bold move allow Usmanov to do similiar?

Can't see it happening like but would be interesting.

In general I think wealthy people will buy stakes in football clubs. In most cases it will be for investment/influence as opposed wanting to pump billions in.

As for the Qataris, maybe they sponsor them. If they do then yes Usmanov can do the same, and I imagine you will see.a trickle of it happening more often.

I think sides are just going to start circum navigating FFP now, and who can blame them. Even if you take UEFAs side, City are not following the rules, so why should anyone else?

That last tweet! He’s actually serious...
I was with a Leeds fan tonight, honestly thinks they will finish in the top Four and Man unt will be sick there back.
I said mate they wouldn't be arsed about Leeds these days and you will do well to stay up takeover or not.
Enjoy it while you can because the prem is one harsh environment.

I like having a proper historic club back but then again, I’m not even allowed into your country right now, let alone able to go to Elland Road and get knifed in the street by some Leeds hooligan

I think it is good to have them back in the PL (Not really encountered their fans, as I am a Yankee). Better having them than some of the other "yo-yo" clubs bouncing between divisions.

with this all being said, without huge investment, I think they are favorites to go back down. They've already spunked the better part of £40 million pounds on Hélder Costa and Jean-Kévin Augustin via promotion permanent clauses (if that transfer can't be gotten out of), and will still need to sign several players. If they rely on Bamford as their #9 they might already be doomed.

One of the best games I've seen at Goodison was the 4-4 in 99, they were top, going for 11 wins in a row.

Brother was a Leeds fan and have a few mates who are, glad they're up, far worse out there.
I remember that game well. My first proper away match.
