Davek is a legendary WUM (unless his doctor/Mum know otherwise). He craves attention and has no concerns over how he gets it.I can't think of a single negative thing to say about Baines and so long as @davek is here, I won't have to.
So in your mind it would be better to finish 5th on 72 points than win the league on 71. Okay mate...You know that season points total Moyes achieved to get 4th in 2004/05? It'd have got you 7th in 2013/14.
I would only offer him a new contract if there’s no money in the budget for a replacement and none of the academy players can step up in that position (they can’). He’s been a great pro for us but players tend to linger way past their sell-by date here and it annoys me. Towards the end look at how poor Howard was, Jags was, Coleman is etc.
Exactly. There's a big difference between the current situation with Baines and the likes of Howard though, Baines isn't first choice and doesn't expect to be first choice. Digne is first choice, and likely will be for years.
What player, in his prime, is going to join us knowing he's second fiddle, and would they be any better as backup than Baines ?
I reckon I could get a tune out of that Belgian team.Because it was subverted from within.
Either side of the subversion we had our best season since the 80s and then his management of the Belgian national team...considered to be that country's best ever period.
To class that no mark as a legend is an embarrassment to the club.Legend.
I reckon I could get a tune out of that Belgian team.
No, you couldn't.I reckon I could get a tune out of that Belgian team.
No. I'm just stating incontrovertible facts and figures. So in your mind it would be better to finish 5th on 72 points than win the league on 71. Okay mate...
Listen....YOU! I done the double treble with Dundee Utd on Football manager 01/02. So shove that in ya pipe. No, you couldn't.
\so where have you seen this, have you read it or where you there?I know he wasn't a nice guy to a certain previous manager. And all because he wouldn't let him sign for United.

The way Baines sacked Martinez was masterfully done - just a few words, nothing heated or off-colour - I just don’t feel as though the chemistry is quite there with the team on the pitch at the moment, and it hasn’t been for a while.Bollocks, in the midst of the great Martinez slump, where we were oncourse to end our illustrious history of over half a century in the top flight, Baines called out Martinez for being a crap manager and questioned his methods and @davek has never got over it.
Suffice to say Baines was right and Martinez was on his bike shortly after...

Shows someone who understands communication, power relationships in football, and how (and when) to use the media. Just skewered Roberto, who had no come back with his estate agent patter.
Baines basically handed him his p45 personally, when others were dithering over a looming crisis - huge service to our football club.
