Im comparing 2 left backs who aren’t known for their defending abilities. I could have also said Lizarazu or Cafu.

Glad you said you think Roberto Carlos could actually defend. You’re in a minority imo

All of these players played for great dominating teams. They didn't need to defend much.

Maybe if Baines played for those teams he would be of the same level, who knows? But he didn't.

I don't think there is anything wrong with saying Baines was a very good player but not a great. Some may take it a bit too far of course but its going as far the other way saying he was the best in the world for a time etc.

These are the reasons why I’d prefer Baines to not be at the club. Tom Davies is one of the worst midfielders I’ve seen play for Everton and Baines thinks it’s right to celebrate mediocrity.

People would say the same crap about Dom and he has improved tenfold. There is literally no reason to be upset by any of this. It’s just an inside look at the players and their comradery. Nothing more. Nothing to be cynical about. The club aren’t touting Davies to be the next Zidane.

The big difference between DCL and Davies is one of them is improving and the other is getting worse.

Davies should be transfer listed.

The big difference between DCL and Davies is one of them is improving and the other is getting worse.

Davies should be transfer listed.

Calvert-Lewin is a couple of years older to be fair. He has also had a proper run in the side rather than one week in and one week out.

I don't think Davies will amount to that much either personally, I think he is pretty average. Hes certainly not one of the worst ever though...

He never mentioned he was a Viera or Guillet. He stated that he works hard, has a right head on him, and is eager.
