Calvert-Lewin is a couple of years older to be fair. He has also had a proper run in the side rather than one week in and one week out.

I don't think Davies will amount to that much either personally, I think he is pretty average. Hes certainly not one of the worst ever though...

DCL has had an extended run in the side because he has proven his worth and took his chance.

Davies has had numerous opportunities and continues to disappoint. He even had a three month run without either Gomes or Gbamin in that CM spot and couldn’t stake a claim. He needs to go.

Just as a for instance. Imagine if Rooney (not a direct comparison) had made his debut under Martinez then had Koeman, Allardyce and Silva all before turning 21 would he have been the same player? He's not exactly surrounded by world class players either. Lets see how 12 months of Mr. Ancelotti turn out.

he must think at 35 he may be able to play first team football for a lower prem league side like Brighton or Southampton or go abroad to America or maybe go into the championship

at the same time he is so injury prone that to sit on the bench for 95% of next season and literally earn money for doing nothing must be tempting
