Dreadful player now and laughable as a captain.

Said it all season long. He was past his best last season and a massive shadow of his former self. How we haven't used this summer to find his immediate replacement is a disgrace.

A few seasons back he was second choice behind Oviedo and then struggled to get a game when Galloway was a better bet.

Why is this feller still here? Are we really suggesting a top four challenging team (which is what we have to be headed toward in terms of ambition) can find a starting spot for Leighton Baines?

Should have been kept as backup or sold for a fee.

I wanted Robertson. Not top class, but head and shoulders above Baines these days.

People are saying he's lacked a partner on the left etc. Let's have it right: he's two seasons past his best or anything like being a LB that a club with ambition retains.

We should be looking at Sessegnon from Fulham, 17 years old only, 30+ games for Fulham already and going to be a superstar.

What we need at left back is a rapid marauding player like him...

The key is signing a superstar left sided centre back.

For me, both positions need to be addressed before a new striker...

He has been finished for a good two years, and I agree with whoever it was who said it's a disgrace how he hasn't been replaced. Imagine spending 150 million and still playing all three of Martina, Williams and Baines in a back four! Unbelievable mismanagement.

Its a really shame to say it but he has become one of the most frustrating players foe me. Hes one of the worst ones for turning inside and passing back rather than forward. Seems his confidence and legs have gone.

Honestly don't know why we play him.

He hasn't offered us anything in the last 18 months plus he leaves us wide open down the left.

At home I would play 3 at the back and use wingers
