Much better 2nd half, especially when Mirallas started to show for the ball a lot more.

He's absolutely screwed if he's got no outball in front of him. Same happened with Kenny 2nd half, grew in confidence

Totally agree. Give him someone in front of him with movement & pace and Baines looks much better; last night there was little of the infuriating stop and pass back inside to a defender / defensive midfielder.

He's one of my favorite players so it hurts to say it, but a new left-back signing is a priority in the summer, if not January. Next season Baines can still do a job; but no way should he be expected to play 40+ games a season anymore.

It's a ridiculous mess that koeman has left most promising left backs out on ,loan, and garbutt improving in the under 23s not put in the squad to January 2018 to play in the prem!
have we got any cover at left back???????

I asked that same question in another thread. It seems we have not and will have to shoulder on unless we can recall a loanee otherwise will have to wait until jan to give Garbutt a try.

Absolutely spot on, it really is shameful the way obvious deficiencies in our squad were either ignored or somehow not even noticed, still though Giroud eh almost eh, my god

Tierney would be a brilliant replacement: he is gonna be signed by somebody soon as he is so good, so we need to do it this window!

Martina . . . no you're right no cover.

Tierney is playing for a club that will qualify for the Champions league every year, he is apparently very happy where he is at present, he can wait a bit yet and see if a top six club will move for him. I very much doubt he would bother with our train wreck of a club, why should he?
