Ossie will never be Barca level but when he got called up for England last season I recall many comments on here about how he is the English Xavi.
If Ossie has been so poor for the last 6 months then shouldn't Barkley be in the England fold?
Ossie is an Everton legend and deserves more respect.

Think they were a bit tongue in cheek mate, this website isn't known for serious delusion like RAWK.

An Everton legend?! C'mon mate.

In the last 30 years apart maybe from Big Nev, Ratcliffe and Hibbert who
else has provided 10 years of loyal service to the club as a player?
That in my book makes him an Everton legend.

As for the Xavi comment, yes it was probably a joke but Ossie is still a current full England International whilst Barkley struggles for the U20's. Ossie is needed at Everton and yes Barkley will come through but lets support our boys instead of slating them

There is nothing wrong with Osman. Been a great servant to the club (hate that phrase but couldnt think of a better one) and although he has been a bit off the boil lately he still has his moments. Hes an important player for us.

What makes an Everton Legend? Cahill and Dunc for me are Everton Legends. so does this come down to what they won or individual opinions

Opinions mate, there's no official classing for something like that. If they mean something to you, then that's all that matters.

Leon's not in the same ball park, not even in the same sport (to quote Pulp Fiction), but I respect him as a player and his efforts for the club.

Why's it always so clear cut with people's opinions of players on this site of late, a player's either Gash or Messi, there's no room for saying a player like Osman (and 95% of our squad to be fair) is talented, has ability, but is inconsistent and having a bad patch of late but will no doubt discover some form before the season's at an end.

It's not so clear cut as people make out.

Can see Leon Losing his place this season, we have Gibson whose job is to control the midfield, Fellaini will do both roles of attacking and defence, just needs to run more. The third one needs to be creative and intelligent and will be the most important midfielder, can barkley do this?

Fellaini runs more than anyone at the club. He covers more ground etc. He just looks as if he doesnt run much due to his style and build.

Tim Cahill had a direct impact on many of our important games and defined an era of resurgence to the upper echelons of the league table, Leon Osman did not. In fact for many years he was heckled for how average he was and barring a few games I don't see any difference than an 'okay' player. Duncan Ferguson was a light in a period of darkness and also won the FA Cup with us, something none of the current squad have done.

Loyal service? Who else except for Everton would really go all out to sign Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert? They're lucky we've been loyal to them and not vice-versa.

Don't get me wrong I am the biggest critic of Hibbert I think he is a totally average player and thank god for Colemans arrival but in Ossies case I think he has improved massively, so much so he got an England call up. He deserves a bit more respect for his service and for making the most of his however small ability to be a mainstay in what has been a top 6 or 7 Premier League club for 10 years
