I wasn't. The point is why are we being precious when clearly he's behind in his development and he won't be playing as much.

Delafeou played 30 odd competitive games last season, that included a international youth tournament.

Barkley hasn't. And it shows.

But we're they all for the Barca first team? I didn't think they were mate.

And no, Ossie may never have been Barca level, but he did some very good jobs for us on several occasions, especially in the 04/05 season.

No, they were for Barca B in the Segunda Division. Basically similar to the championship where he scored a boat load I think (he's the 3rd highest goalscorer in Barca B's history)

Barkley had a handful of games. He shouldve gone out for a full season to a decent club. We would have more rounded player.
 
There's nothing wrong in saying he was below his best after he got the England call up early on this year, it was noticeable.

However, I reckon he still offers a lot to us, either in the first eleven or in the squad, and is underrated.

Long time Ossie fan here, but yeeah I'd have to agree he was out of form then. What really annoyed me is when he was injured and Barkley filled in for him at Arsenal and had a really good game... but the following week he was immediately put back in the squad and didn't really show much form.
 
He's got the worst shot ever, even his amazing goal last season was a miss hit

He can put in a good performance now and then but overall i don't want him anywhere near the starting 11.

Yeah, I like Ossie as a player too, but I can also see when he has a bad day, and can see how well looked after he was by Moyes.

To be honest I feel like most matches he does appear to go AWOL.

When hes on his game hes untouchable, but when hes not, hes quite awful.
 

He's 32...I'm sorry, but I've been waiting years for this potential and consistency...I'd rather develop a younger player at the same level (or even slightly less) as him than continue with him...

I like Osman as a person, but unfortunately time has crept up on him and it is now someone else's turn...
 
He's looked poo so far in preseason, as have Koné and Fellaini, but I think all 3 are Muslims and it's Ramadan, give him a chance.
 
He has an excellent first touch.

I mean, it's hard getting in the England squad, even harder in your thirties.

Ossie will never be Barca level but when he got called up for England last season I recall many comments on here about how he is the English Xavi.
If Ossie has been so poor for the last 6 months then shouldn't Barkley be in the England fold?
Ossie is an Everton legend and deserves more respect.
