Don't get me wrong, I know he ain't good enough now, but some of the abuse is getting nasty and that's just wrong.
I think he is still good enough to be a starter in the #10 position as long as he is replaced within 60 mins. Or as sub in any of the attacking midfield roles.

It is just he hasn't got the legs anymore to play out wide for more than 30 minutes or the strength to play as a defensive midfielder at all. Sad as I like Ossie, think he is a clever player.

I don't actually think he should start. He's best as a sub perhaps, at best. I agree with those who say he's past it.

However, I don't agree with the downright nasty abuse he recives for it. That's not on and isn't very Evertonian.

He has been a great servant and scored some memorable goals. I doubt he has much longer to go at this level but I am sure he will still be useful from time to time. I would like him to be part of a trophy winning squad before he hangs up his boots here.

Not quite sure why anyone gives personal abuse to any player for their performances tbh least of all one of our own.

Fair enough if they are a racist or are violent to other players etc but don't understand vitriol towards anyone who is trying their best, just not succeeding.

That's not the whole post and you known it, however, no, he isn't good enough. I'm not saying he is.

It's the abuse he gets which does my head in. Some treat him like he's Nick Barmby and he doesn't deserve that.

He's not up to the job, but he doesn't deserve the stick he gets. He's been a servant to us and we should respect that.

Your whole post's still there. I just quoted the bit about why he shouldn't be starting as I agreed with that.

Proved his worth as a squad member today, we could leave him and Naismith at home in the week knowing they'd start this match. Great use of the full squad from Roberto.

I like your faith in him. I really do.

I love Leon, but he's not really up to it any more.

He's been a good lad for us and I hate to see him getting a dogs abuse.

Not up to what though?

I think he's up to starting at Turf Moor when we've had a European away 3 days prior.

I think that Osman is most effective off the bench for the last 25 minutes of the match. He has performed really well in that role compared to when he starts the game. He definitely has plenty to contribute and I think that generally RM is now managing the "rotation policy" quite well by giving some players a rest while trying to keep a stable core of players from game to game.
